Toscana, on the night of her 50th birthday had a vivid dream of being with her one true love. A trip to Italy for the Chocolate Festival without her husband and a chance meeting with history professor Flynn had her discovering herself and the one for whom her heart beat in the past life and the present.
A beautifully written story by Nanette Littlestone had me dreaming about the landscapes of Rome and Tuscany and all the ancient culture and architecture. It was a wonderful journey which had me thinking about my own life. The past memories had a smooth resonance in the present, connected to discoveries of the ancient life.
Nanette’s style of writing had the maturity and strength which made the prose almost like a lyrical poetry. I liked the way she conveyed the painful emotions which tugged the main character in different directions. I could feel her intimate thoughts deep in me. I understood her. Flynn was an awesome human being who stood by her with his love.
There was something which niggled me, I wanted Toscana to be more than what she was; even after finding her inner self and dealing with all the battles thrown at her, she didn’t reach for the stars. I kept egging her from the shadows to find her destiny. My words didn’t reach her ears.
I believe in past lives and reincarnation and the energy of the soul, and hence this book touched me way more than a love story.
I downloaded a digital copy of this book from kindle unlimited, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!!

Nanette Littlestone never knew she wanted to be a writer until she was over 40. But once she began, the ideas didn’t stop. Her fascination with relationships, history, and the spiritual path has opened her writing to women’s fiction, historical fiction, and inspirational nonfiction.
A native Californian, Nanette lives in Atlanta, Georgia, far from the beach (which she loves) but a place that’s warm with spectacular scenery. On the professional side, she helps entrepreneurial women write from the heart, get published, and inspire others. On the fun side, she takes walks with her husband, cooks, plays with graphic design, and makes origami butterflies. She loves to travel, but she’s waiting for the teleportation machine to whisk her off to Greece or Asia. In the meantime, she’s happy with dark chocolate and romantic movies that make her cry.
On the night of her fiftieth birthday, the comfortable ride of Toscana’s life takes an alarming plunge. Haunted by seductive visions, she tries to push aside the desire and focus on the husband who adores her. Then she falls for Flynn, a younger man with an eye for adventure and a heart full of romance, who leaves her doubting everything she’s believed about love and passion.
In Atlanta, Rome, and the lush scenery of Tuscany, Toscana searches for answers to the mysteries of her life while she faces her biggest question. If she listens to her feelings will she lose everything she holds dear, or does her heart hold the key to love and joy?

Italy is one of those places I have pledged to go back to someday. This sounds like a lovely book. Great review!
Awww…. Thank you so much.. This was a sweet story of past lifetime showing its presence in the present… 😍
I love the idea of a past life and this sounds like a charming read, Shalini! Wonderful review! ♥️ 🔥
Thank you so much ♥️
I’ve always been fascinated with stories about past lives and reincarnation. This sounds like a really great read. I will definitely be checking it out. Happy Friday, Shalini! 🙂
Happy Friday Leslie ♥️ hope you have a wonderful weekend
I’ve always wanted to visit Tuscany. What a gorgeous cover!
I agree… Beautiful ♥️
What a beautiful tribute to the book, Shalini. And yes, love books like that. A favorite of mine written by Michael Reisig. Written well you do become a believer. Awesome review.
Awww… Gin thank you so much ❤️.. I believe in a lot of things like that… I think most Indians from India do…
This sounds divine – I once toured Italy… 20 years ago, but it was lovely.
Oh wow… Lucky you… I tour the world only in books 😂
What a lovely review Shalini. I’ll definitely be reading this!🤗
This was really a sweet book, Kim… How’s your health?
It sounds like It Shalini. I’m just getting over the flu, and my husband and I were in our tiny Smart Car the other day when we were hit by an 85 year old women driving a 2018 Ford Escape, so same old, same old.🤷🏻♀️
F**k do you have a magnet around you that you are attracting all this juju?
And are you guys ok? Are you okay…. Omg omg
Pardon the expletive
My theory is I have bad karma I’m working off from a previous life.🙇🏻♀️ My hubby’s okay, but I have a cervical strain which is making my migraines and tmj worse.😰
Girl you believe in Karma and previous life.. Omg omg… Me too. And I am also kind of washing away my sins of my past life and this…
I definitely believe in Karma and reincarnation.
Cervical sprain… Sheesh…
Alternate ice pack and warm water bag on the part.. For some this works…
I use ice pack on sprains… My doc tells me to use hot water but for me hot water bag exacerbates pain.. Ice cools it down, for some ice causes further muscle spasm
Kim, Mahanarayanan oil or dhanwantaram oil which is available in amazon.com should work. Do a test patch on the inner elbow for allergic reaction… I use that rather than allopathy… And I massage that gently for my parents too… It is Ayurvedic…
I’ve been to my doctor and she recommended ice and prescribed a Medrol Dose Pak of prednisone for a week to bring down inflammation. Thanks for your advice as always. I’m going to look up that oil right now.

Shalini has risen to new heights in her reviews, delivering some awesome prose herself. This a beautiful book regarding past lives. I’ve had that feeling–I think most do–admit it or not. Keep up the super work, Shalini!
Omg omg… Wow.. Thanks Gin. Omg omg..
But the book is that great.. Do you want to read it?
oooh… Bella Toscana… such a pretty name. This sounds like a story I’d like. Currently reading a book about lives and past lives and being reborn into the same role. Pretty fun too,
That is great.. Do you have time to read since I know you are booked till February 😂😂 you were to read Matt Doyle in Feb
Hahaha. I leave some space in between 😝
So you want to read this book? Author would love beautiful reviewers like you
Hmm… I want to say yes but I’m not sure what my Feb is like yet. A new Spells and Caramels is coming out… you really have to hurry up with that series too!
Oh yes.. I gotta.. I was supposed to complete 15 author requests, 15 NetGalley requests and 8 of my own books for Jan… Ah well, I think I am lagging wayyyyy behind but I have to get to Erin and reverse harem.. 😂 😂 How else will I please and exasperate you? 😂😂 And yes in the new year it is my deepest wish to tease you all the time… Deal with it!! 😂 😂
Man you are relentless in your reading! Lol
I’m looking forward to the Matt Doyle book
I don’t think this is a book for me, but I like the creative format of your review!
Some days my brain can think the words.. Most days it is ‘meh’ or ‘fab’😂😂
I have a dilemma I don’t believe in soulmates but I want my heart to dance to the beat of the drum or whatever you just told me, LOL always love your reviews!🥰
I believe in soul mates, I have seen certain couples but I have been very unlucky in that matter… I hope one day, darling, our hearts do beat in whatever rhythm I just told you 😂😂
The most important thing how is your flu? Are you better now?
Oh thank you so much for asking! Yes I feel much much better, although I am awake in the middle of the night, but we had a little drama going on around here, LOL
Rest is the only therapy for flu 😍 sleep well sleep more
I have been resting! I do feel much much better today just have a cough, but that will end soon I’m sure!
Warm ginger water should help
Boil water +add slices of ginger + cover it + wait till it is drinkable + strain the water = warm ginger water.
Just take care that ginger is acceptable to you and it should not be too pungent, add more warm water if it is.
I probably visited lots of these places when I was in Italy last May!
Thank you for the lovely reviews. Especially this one, connected to the beautiful Toscana. This region is heartbreaking, and like whole Italy great for curating love. 🙂 Have a nice Sunday! Michael
Oh Michael… That’s beautiful
