MY REVIEW
Having read many of author Leslie Georgeson’s books, I knew I would get an unusual hero. Here, I got one who thought himself to be a freak, was actually called so by his family, but was, in reality, quite striking in his looks and talent. Unique.
Zac ran away at the age of sixteen when his family wanted to take advantage of his talent, to be swallowed in the world of obscurity. Until one day, a strong woman, Mia, came knocking on his door. Something fluttered in his heart when his lips tumultuously curved into a smile.
The romance was tender, and I liked their ongoing chemistry. The story had its share of suspense when dead bodies and murders popped up in scenes. I liked how the author weaved mystery and intrigue in what essentially was a love story.
The author’s sensitivity in taking a young boy’s tender mind, broken many times by the family, and finding a home with his teacher and later on with Mia was well shown. The writing showed me Zac’s life as he battled with his insecurities to rise beyond it.
Being nitpicky, I wanted stronger dialogues, though I had to admit if the author had written stronger steamy scenes, I would have gone up in flames.
The story was a journey of finding oneself, along with confidence and love, and accepting our physical aspects that were different from the others. Being a freak was slowly transformed into being freakily brilliant.
Overall, a sweet read where suspense foreshadowed the twists galore and made the book an entertaining read.

BOOK BLURB
Jealousy. Betrayal. Family secrets.
Appearances are everything in my family. We are the Strongs. Fame is our birthright. Music flows through our veins in a continuous harmony. Flaws are unacceptable.
When my parents got a good look at the freak they’d created, I was hidden away, my existence wiped out.
Until they discovered my secret.
Now I had something they wanted.
Taking it from me didn’t faze them. They believed they were entitled.
I was just a boy, unable to fight back.
So I did the only thing I could.
I vanished.
That was nine years ago.
Now they are back, and they want something from me again.
They send the sexy and oh-so-tempting Mia Bennett to persuade me, and I’m helpless to resist her.
Mia seems innocent in my family feud, but is she really?
I can’t be sure.
All I know is she makes me feel alive again. She gives me the courage to just be me. She’s the new inspiration behind my music, my heart’s own melody.
But something dark and twisted lurks close to home, and leaves me questioning who is friend and who is foe.
Now I am forced to make a decision that could well break me.
How far am I willing to go for the woman I love?

The cover doesn’t match the synopsis, I would have passed it by thinking it was a rocker tale. Silly me!
