Many thanks to Jill and Books ‘n’ All Promotions for my spot on this Blog Tour.
Quite a fun murder mystery. It was a gentle investigation into the murder of a woman and her missing child linked to another murder which occurred a few years ago.
My first book by the author Jeanette Taylor Ford, the pace was swift when the investigation started. Charlie the missing child too provided me with his thoughts and journey as he ran away after finding his mother’s body.
Both the detectives Cooke and Grant were charming, their investigation looked into all aspects of murders. They were quite thorough, gentle yet firm while dealing with the other characters.. The initial chapters were confusing as I didn’t know what roles the various characters fitted into. But soon the book progressed into its rhythmic flow.
The ending was quite unexpected, I must say. I was taken unaware of the way the author overlapped past and the present murders. An investigation with a heart, protecting the innocents had me reading this in a jiffy.
Overall, a fun afternoon read, right before the siesta.
I downloaded the digital version of the book from an online retailer, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
When a young woman is found strangled in her camper-van and her twelve-year-old son goes missing, DI Cooke and DS Grant have a dual problem on their hands. And what does this murder have to do with the fatal stabbing of a young man in Portsmouth several years before? And how on earth are residents of Sutton-on-Wye involved?

An unexpected ending with your thriller experience? I’m intrigued…🤔
A fun read…
I’m wondering if your nap time murder are a different breed from your breakfast murders? Less bloodshed maybe?
I am a pure vegetarian… So maybe I need bloodshed in the mornings so that I have adrenaline flowing in me. By tea time I am mellowed… 😂 😂 😂 I gotta check this theory…
I agree to Empress DJ. 😉 Really, a pure vegetarian? No chicken, no fish? Oh, life must be so monotonous. 😉 Michael
No egg too… What can I say – I am boringly interesting 😂😂
