MY REVIEW

A story that caused my heart to expand with emotions, a prose that caused my eyes to well up, a book that brought a smile to my face. This was the power of author Rebecca Marsh’s writing.

3 sisters estranged, one father worried, sudden death, a clause in the will and the sisters are forced to spend two weeks with each other.

The story might seem familiar, but the writing uplifted it with its simplicity. Each word was powerful enough to touch my heart. I loved the sisters, even through they were thorny and prickly, unwilling to let anyone inside.

But…

Fights and friction led to love and forgiveness. Their journey felt unique because there was something so real about them. Written in their individual chapters, I understood them far more than each other. There were moments I wanted to prod them to look deeper.

The author could bring out their inner fears with subtle hints. I loved it when the characters were deeper than the dialogues uttered. The book was a fast read as it was so compelling.

My kindle became an attached accessory until I reached the end. The Rift Between Us became the bridge between me and my love for books. Simply beautiful…

BOOK BLURB

After a family dinner turns into a bitter fight, sisters Maria, Lauren, and Avery decide to go their separate ways. Their father warns them that someday they will need one another. When he dies suddenly, they learn that he intends to make sure that they do. He’s left them a substantial inheritance, far more than any of them ever imagined.

There’s just one catch. If they want the money, they will have to spend two weeks together at a secluded lake house and follow all of their father’s instructions—no matter how strange.

Their task seems simple enough, but each one is holding onto painful secrets and old grudges the others know nothing about. But if they can learn to trust each other again, they might be able to mend the rift between them and give their father his dying wish.

    1. I love a good women’s fiction where emotions capture me. This was one of them. I review only the books I enjoy quite a bit on the blog, the rest I read for pleasure and a two line review.

Awesome to see you here. Let's chat.
