Give a doctor a medical thriller, what’s she to do? Give a doc a thriller against the big pharma, what’s she to do? Give a doc a great main character who is gutsy and kick-ass, what’s she to do? That’s simple to answer. She jumped up high and danced, pumping the fists in air.

Jordan was the journalist on whose door was an obituary stuck. Eric, who worked in a new pharma company, had died in mysterious circumstances with sudden flu and multi organ failure, and everyone kept mum. Nothing tickled Jordan’s senses more. She got to investigating the big mystery of his death along with friends, until she realized that Eric’s life had more danger which continued even after his death.

My first book by author K. C. Gillis was brilliant. It was thrilling, it shook me to my core. I hate the pharma companies with a passion. I feel the medical profession is controlled by them. Any book which battled against them became my favorite book. The author wrote the scenes seamlessly, I loved the research sunk into the subplots. The urgency and threat were felt in between the lines.

Bad guys were on to Jordan, and she needed to be fast. I ran with her, fought by her side. I loved the way she was etched so lovingly by the author. Strength and passion was in her every cell. But she was kinda naive for a journalist. I wanted to prod her to be careful… I poked my kindle screen, alas, didn’t reach her.

The book was swift paced, I felt the anger coursing through my veins at the antics of the pharma company. According to me they are suited goons. (Told a couple of them too in my line of work). The book gave me an arrhythmia, my pulse rate went haywire… My temper soared, family was warned to stay away.

This was a volatile read where I was completely engaged in the story where nothing mattered but the truth and bringing the bad guys to their knees. Wow!!

I received a free ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Strange symptoms. Bloody secrets. Can one reporter solve a medical mystery before she ends up in a body bag?
Jordan Reed put her world on hold to hunt down corruption. So when the gutsy journalist gets tipped off about blood money changing hands at a pharmaceutical company, she dives into the story. With an otherwise healthy worker dropping dead of multiple organ failure, Jordan suspects something far more sinister than a simple accident…

Daring to go up against big pharma, she gains an ally on the inside and recruits two friends to join the investigation. But after a string of false leads and tight-lipped witnesses, she ties her case to disturbingly similar evidence in a medical trial on the other side of the globe. And if she doesn’t expose the lethal conspiracy soon, Jordan is terrified she and her team could be the next victims of the lethal cover-up.

Can Jordan take down a greedy corporation before they sacrifice more lives in the drive for profit?
