Leslie, welcome to my blog. It is so wonderful to have you here. It has been in my mind all through the reading of The Tracker, to ask you a few questions. I am glad I got the opportunity today.

Tell me something about yourself, who is Leslie Georgeson?
I am first a mom and a wife, but also a reader, and a writer. Books have always been my passion. I will probably read until I can no longer see, and write until I can no longer type.

How did the Dregs concept come about? How did you coin such a word?
The definition of “dregs” was intriguing to me: “the most worthless part or parts of something; scum, refuse, riffraff, outcasts”. My mind went wild with all sorts of things I could do with that. The idea of wounded warriors who’d been cast aside and are now “dregs” hiding away from the world took shape one day, and gradually, the characters of the Dregs series evolved. I liked the theme of the misunderstood “bad” guys turning “good” and used that to base the series on.

How long did it take for the Dreg Tracker to transform from thought to word?
Tracker started out as an outline that grew as his character came to life onthe page. He continued to grow until I finished the book, so I would say “months”.

How many books in this series? Who is next?
Eight books in this series. Jacob’s story, The Fighter, will be released on May 1 (and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon). I am now working on Nate’s story, The Healer. After that will be Tony’s story, The Smuggler, and the other dregs will follow.

How long have you been writing, and how many novels have been brought forth so far?
I have eleven published works and The Healer will make number twelve. I have been writing since I was fourteen.

Why did you choose to write romantic novels? Are you a full – on romantic or a closet romantic?
I am a full-on romantic and have been married to my soulmate for 23 years, so I consider myself very fortunate. I love that first spark, the physical attraction/sexual tension that builds when couples meet and start falling in love.

What other genre would you think to write?
Thrillers, though I’m not sure if could actually pull it off. It takes a certain talent to write an engaging thriller.

What is a routine day in the life of Leslie Georgeson, both the woman and the writer?
I work as a paralegal during the day, so I write both at work and at home.I also have a family, so my writing time is very limited. Most of my writing is done on the weekends.

Do you have specific times when you write, some special nook, where such sexy hunky guys just jump into your brain?
I have an office in my house that is used primarily for writing. Ideas come to me all the time, and my mind is constantly conjuring up ways to torture my characters. So even when I’m not writing, I am still writing.

What do you do other than writing, what are your hobbies?
I’m an avid gardener and spend a lot of time in my greenhouse or in my perennial beds in the yard. I am also a voracious reader. Other activities include riding my horse and spending time with my family.

Did you always want to be a writer, did it happen gradually or one fine day, you decided to try your hand in writing?
I’ve always been a creative person and actually wrote my first book when I was fourteen, though I didn’t publish anything until early 2014.

How do you write a book, do you write the plot first, then flesh the story out?
I always start with an outline, but new ideas tend to come along as the story unfolds and sometimes the story veers off in an entirely different direction than I’d first planned.

If Leslie was a character in your book, how would you describe her?
I’m that quiet character who just observes things around her, then suddenly one day makes an outburst or does something totally unexpected that shocks people and makes them realize there’s much more to her than meets the eye.

If you were given a choice, a bestseller versus crucially acclaimed book, what would you choose?
Hmmm. I would have to say a bestseller, because opinions are so varied, and I write to entertain. I’m not trying to win any awards.

Are you a cat or a dog person? Do you have any pets?
I like all animals, really. I love dogs, but I’m much too busy for a dog rightnow. We currently have a family cat, two horses, and our daughter is now raising some baby chickens.

Your favorite music that makes you want to get up and dance.
I like all kinds of music, but country music is probably my favorite. It alldepends on my mood.

What is the fun thing about you that no one else knows?
Hmmm. Well, this isn’t exactly a secret, but not many people know that I jump on the trampoline with my eleven-year-old daughter in the evenings, and that we act out silly characters while bouncing around.

I have been your beta reader twice now, and I have found you gracious and kind and most importantly, you understood my points. What made you trust me?
You just seemed to be an honest, straightforward person. I like how blunt you are. You also go above and beyond, and that makes you unique.

Any last words at the end of this interview?
Thank you, Shalini, for being so awesome!
