I was tagged by Shaz to do the This Is My Genre Book Tag! Thank you for tagging me!

The Rules:
Credit for this tag goes entirely to Drew, The Tattooed Book Geek.

The Rules

  • Answer the questions.
  • Tag as many people as you want.

1. What is your favorite genre?

At this point, I don’t have a favorite genre. Now I find myself veering towards different genre. But the main genre which has been my backup during off moods is Thriller/ Suspense

2. Who is your favorite author from that genre

Always and forever, Matthew Reilly

3. What is it about that genre that keeps pulling you back

The thrillers, the suspense and the intrigue in them which causes the adrenaline rush, the heightened color, the increased pulse rate, the gasps. The fire that burns in my blood to know the truth, to get to the end. The way the thrillers grip me and make me forget realities if life, and the way my brain becomes totally focused on the book makes me a total junkie for this book – the rush!!

4. What is the book that started your love for the genre?

Robin Cook’s Coma, Fever

Arthur Hailey’s Final Diagnosis

I was given both the books together

5. If you have to recommend one book from your favorite genre to a non-reader, someone looking to start reading that genre, what book would you choose and why?

I hate recommending books

For medical thrillers I would recommend above

For courtroom thrillers Compelling Evidence by Steve Martini

For dark side of humanity cop with psychologist Blood Test by Jonathan Kellerman

Pure adventurous thriller with a bit of sci-fi The Contest by Matthew Reilly

Pure underwater and above ground adventure Sahara by Clive Cussler though I liked the older book by him too Raise the Titanic

6. Why do you read?

The same reason I breathe

I tag

And anyone else who wants to do this tag

I love The Contest by Matthew Reilly

  1. Oh. My. God. Shalini did a tag?! Should I mark this day in my calendar?! I…. I don’t know what to say!!! 😂😂 Thanks for the nomination, love! Can’t wait to get to this one… It’s going to be a challenge because, me? Certain genre?? 😂😂 But you had some great books listed! 💖💖

    1. Hahaha I knew it… Well even I am shocked. This had 5 questions on genre. Rest of tahs and awards ask me to name characters, scenes… Well I don’t remember all that
Hence this tag, short and sweet…
I just choose easy ones 😉😉😂😂

      1. Ha ha!! The easy ones are the best! I don’t know HOW people remember so much!! Like, I can give you quotes from a book I just read because I would still probably have them all highlighted on my phone, but the questions like “what’s your favourite quote?” HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER THAT?! 🤔

        1. Same here.. Only quote I can think of is – The End… Oh wait that’s not a quote, it is really the end 😂😂 but it is so easy to remember

          1. I loved scrooge… It is great for the first time, you are referencing a character I actually know of 🤦🏻🤷🏻

  2. HA! OOOHH, THIS pingback! Gracious! Well, thanks so much for the nomination, but your answers were so damn good–it’s definitely going to take me to some time (especially with guests coming in tonight) to come up with anything that complete. Favorite quote, “the End.” ?? You are too hilarious!

    1. I can be the stress ball reliever…. Oh Jay this sounds dirty in so many ways…
Just wait till Nicole gets to this comment hahaha
Since it is a short easy tag, I could do it

  3. Wow… A Mattew Reilly fan.. I’ve actually not encountered one in the the blogs I follow till now 😀😀😀 I love all of his books and it’s so difficult to choose between Jack West Jr or Shane Schofield… but I think the Seven Ancient Wonders series is my favorite 😊😊😊

    1. I know… No body talks of this Australian author… He started writing the contest when he was in college at 18 and I have loved him since…
Jack West is fab… Scarecrow Shane has his own charm. I remember having a huge crush on Shane. I probably still do
So glad to connect with a Matthew Reilly fan♥️♥️😍😍

      1. Haha… I remember having a crush on Shane too… hez such an amazing hero…
I’m so glad to connect with you as well…. 😊😊😊

  4. Thank you for doing this tag, Shalini! 💕I’m hoping to read some thriller books soon because it is a great genre. I especially like your answer to the last question!
