Oh hark thee, all and sundry

There is a a new man, a God if I may so say

A bod like nothing I’ve ever seen

And heart so loving has never been

Damaged and a soldier was all he was

Till a gentle touch soothes his scars

She was Jessica, the woman to his man

He was the Tracker, the Dreg, a hunk of a man

A captivating start of the series by Leslie Georgeson, about the Dregs.

My review

The background: The Dregs are the soldiers, captured in childhood, experimented, mutated, injected with more animal DNA than human, then sent to war fronts but when injured, they are to be killed by the General. But these 9 Dregs escape and are in hiding with a huge bounty on their heads. This series is their story…

Tracker, one who can locate anyone with a picture, is the first dreg who entered my life and boy, was I captivated and ensnared!!!

The story goes thus, in a gang-war filled town of Augusta, Jessica needs help to locate her sister, seeks out Tracker in his underground location in a haunted homestead, and being the good soul that he is, he does help her, even at a personal cost of his life and his best friend, Gordon.

My views My first book by author Leslie Georgeson, and I have become a fan of her writing. She writes her stories coated with suspense, thrill, and romance. The book is fast paced, the chapters have both Tracker and Jessica’s POV, but it is the chemistry between them which steals the breath, hot, heavy, and sensuous (this is the only PG-13 rated way I can describe herešŸ˜‰)

I loved the way Leslie has developed Tracker, he is broken, cast aside by the society, dealing with nightmares and flashbacks, yet has a deep-rooted core of decency in him. He doesn’t take advantage of the situation. He is everything a man should be… (Sighhhh…)

The Bonds: The camaraderie and the sense of brotherhood that these dregs share was nothing short of amazing. Each one is so different, so distinct, with different innate talents (so hot!!!), yet so lovable. This book is Tracker’s story, but I got to know the others too, and I think they stole a tiny bit of my heart.

Leslie’s penmanship is smooth, her chapters flow seamlessly, and the twists are certainly unexpected. Just when I thought the ending is in sight, and I was feeling nice warm and complacent, she brought an acute turn to the story and the roller-coaster ride of the story continued. Wow!!!

A book which pulled me into the story, an author who made me fall in love with these broken soldiers. There is only one thing I can say

They are the Dregs and I love them all and that’s all that matters!!!

P.S. Look at the cover, the ripped body, the cuts, what I wouldn’t give to….. (I leave that unsaid as this is a general family based blog)

Stay tuned for my interview with the Author in the next week..

My rating : 5 stars

Book blurb — A message from Tracker

I’m a trained killer. An expert tracker.

I’ve done despicable things. My soul is damaged. My body impaired. That’s what happens when you are a soldier for The Company. I was discharged a year ago. Now I am a dreg. Worthless. With a bounty on my head. I’ve become a creature of the night, hiding in an underground maze during the day. Because I’m not ready to die yet.

She comes to me one night, needing my help to find her sister. The moment I see her, I want her. Her goodness calls to me, makes me yearn for the impossible. She brings life back to the deadness inside me. I’m no good for her. I will do nothing but corrupt her. But I’m a callous bastard. I can’t resist her.

I try not to care for her, but somehow she slips under my skin. She makes me weak. And there is only one thing in this world I am afraid of. Weakness.

I’ll never be good enough for her, so I have to finish this job and send her on her way.

Before she destroys me.
