Many thanks to Sarah and BOTBS Publicity for my spot on this Blog Tour.
This was an amalgamation of physics, poetry, a fugue state, and life lived on a different plane.
My third book by author Karl Drinkwater, the story was swirling depths where everything was open to interpretation. Subtle clues were hidden in the prose and in the depths of the characterization. The author wrote a love story but which occurred in a few seconds or 72 hours depending on how the clues were read.
Alex was the geek who loved physics and Lucy, but she ditched him but returned back for 72 hours. Alex as a character was detailed well, a boy not so comfortable with relationships who sometimes stuck to the past without letting it flow to the future.
Time condensed to a chapter and time expanded to a book when the author took his pen to write the book. This might sound like a love story, but it was about living a lifetime in a few days or a few seconds. Are we who we truly say we are? Do we exist beyond and within? Can we exist and not exist? Who is to say we don’t live multiple lifetimes on different planes.
The book was beyond the realms of logic into the tangents of possibilities. The characters were anchored in the realms of reality and imagination. It was surely a different read. It needed me to look into myself and beyond myself.
The book reminded me that I have also lived a lifetime in a few seconds, but they actually didn’t happen. Yet the joy and warmth of love was present in my heart. Then how can I deny it didn’t happen?
I received a free ARC from Sarah and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Alex Kavanagh is a pedantic physics geek – a teacher who hates teaching, a lover who’s always getting dumped, a writer whose articles all get rejected, a 28-year-old still living at home and bullied at the bus stop by teenagers – and he’s just had the worst day of his life. Things can only get better, right?
Enter his ex, Lucy, in what seems to be a chance meeting. Her betrayal marked the point when his life went nuclear. But – holy protons! – he still loves her.
Two problems. First, she isn’t who he thinks she is. Second, she’s going to leave him forever in 72 hours.

This premise is tickling my brain cells – you find the most interesting tales
I aim to please you, my darling ❤️😘 but this was really different
This does sound different, but then life with a physics nerd can be that way. I think your review did a great job of relating the different planes this story place in.
Thank you so much ❤️ Linda. How are you doing? Has my comment on your post gone into spam?
I didn’t see anything in spam from you. I am trying to get caught up on reading blog posts but can’t get to all of them.
No idea some of my comments seem to be lost in Wp world
I loved this review, and just wanted to say that it is publication day for the new edition of the partner book, 2000 Tunes – https://www.karldrinkwater.uk/2020/04/2000-tunes.html
I think there will be a blog tour later in the year for 2000 Tunes with BOTBS again, but if you do want a copy you can also let me know via any of the usual channels and I’ll sort it out. 🙂
At the moment due to world crisis, I am not reading much. Will get back to you
