MY REVIEW
My first foray into a Kate White book, I was pulled in by the premise of the story with an amnesiac main character Ally Linden wanting to know what had happened to her in the past two days.
Ally, a finance analyst found herself in her old office only to learn she had left that office five years ago. She slowly recovered her memory except for the past 2 days. What had happened to her in those days? The mystery deepened when she found a wad of tissues with dried blood on it.
I loved how Ally acted when she found herself in a pickle. She kept her cool and tried to get to the bottom of the mystery even to the point of hiring the detectives.
The story was a bit slow to read, but I didn’t mind that as it was a slow day for me. The perp was obvious, but I turned a blind eye to everything evident and kept reading. I liked most of the story as it kept the suspense going. But…
Then came my real niggle; the ending was too abrupt. I felt I was missing a few pages where the subplots were not completed for me. Ah well, some books were like that. They ended in the blink of an eye.
Acradacabra… And the book was done!! 😂 😂 Well, what could I say. On to my next.
