MY REVIEW
This was a fun, fast, feel-good romance, almost like a second chance between Hank and Marla.
Marla was fed up with Jeff’s multiple affairs, divorced him, and came back home with 4 kids. Hank lost his wife to disease and was juggling his career and 5 kids. And the chemistry between rocked.
So they decided to explore it, much to the ire of the kids. You see, Hank was Jeff’s cousin so the kids were related. But NOT MARLA… 😂 😂 She told all of us a couple of times that it really wasn’t incest.
My first romance by author Piper Rayne, I liked how fast the book went. Listened to it in a week’s time. Both the narrators Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell were great. They made the story feel real.
This was my first audio romance with mature themes… Read it as SEX… 😂 😂 AND IT WAS ON AUDIO. I did have to rush at a couple of places to lower the volume, lest the neighbors gave me those glances. We have paperthin walls… 😂 😂
Humor was weaved into the prose, and I had to giggle and snicker when Hank’s mom made fun of him when he was caught with his junk hanging out and making out with Marla in public. And yes, she did pass on that nugget of information to the local radio station…
The story was a HEA with no major twists, so it was predictable but extremely cute. A short, fast romance with no angst.

BOOK BLURB
Two aching hearts. A meddling small town. A second chance.
It’s not a new story. Wife finds out husband’s been cheating on her and she packs up her four kids and heads back to her hometown, Sunrise Bay, Alaska.
Yeah, not a fresh start, but thousands of miles away from my ex will do just fine.
I’m prepared for the cold weather, the early snowfalls, and dark days and nights. What I’m not prepared for is coming face to face with my ex’s cousin and for the same feelings from twenty years ago to ignite like the flame never went out.
It doesn’t take long before people are whispering about the widowed Hank Greene and me. But we both have children to think of this time around. Then again, Hank knows what it’s like to be a single parent and sometimes those damn dimples of his make it hard to remember why we can’t be together.
