MY REVIEW
If you didn’t know this fact by now, then I got to tell you – I LOVE THRILLERS.
Now that we had this important fact going viral (as if 🤣) I had to continue with the review.
Palmer had a slimy, slippery like an eel (not that I had felt one… But that’s the way the phrase went) absolutely lousy house husband, Ben, who looked after baby Gray, 2 weeks post delivery when she had to go back to work. One day they disappeared. It was upto Palmer to retrace their steps.
My first book by author Kiersten Modglin, I loved the way the writing kept me engrossed into the story. Second thing that could do viral anytime – missing child arc was my favorite. Hence I was massively into it. I loved the fast pace and enjoyed seeing how quickly I could get through the pages.
Palmer had some good friends, though I was not one of them. I liked her but didn’t love her. Some of her ramblings I didn’t want to listen to at this point of my time. Many situations felt a little far-fetched, but I supposed creative license could be quoted here.
The story was good fun, not darkly, heart in the mouth kind of suspenseful. I could guess some bits and couldn’t guess the others. Win some, lost some.
Honestly, I needed something that would distract me for a couple of hours so that I stayed away from depressing news articles, and this book certainly helped. I didn’t want to concentrate, and I didn’t have to. In this. Whew…
What did that say about the book? Good… Bad… Go figure…

BOOK BLURB
Palmer Lewis married a liar.
But just how deadly are his lies?
Shortly after marrying her soulmate and the birth of their son, the lies begin.
First, it’s the phone calls, always held in secret, always deleted from his phone.
Then it’s his odd disappearances and the little nagging voice in her head screaming: something is not right.
When Palmer follows her gut — and her husband — she catches him with an unfamiliar woman in the park and in his biggest lie thus far. Learning from her past, she hatches a plan to protect herself and their child.
But when her husband and son disappear one afternoon and don’t return, Palmer must retrace her steps and dig deep to discover the truth before it’s too late.
Who is the mysterious woman her husband lied about meeting? Who knows what happened to her family? Who’s lying? In this twisted psychological thriller, the better question is, who isn’t?
