My Review
What was it all about
The Eyewitness by T. R. Folsom was all about how Emily could see visions post her corneal transplant that helped her to give important clues to a murder happened days ago.
How it made me feel
A murder mystery was always fun to don the Detective hat to try to solve it before the main character.
I loved those pages where clues were laid down like bread crumbs.
Emily as a main character was gutsy, once she understood her purpose in life.
The Good
The author managed to use a bit of paranormal along with the important aspect of organ donation.
I loved how adventurous she and her bestie were in the entire book. That brought a smile and a bubble of excitement in the book. Humor was also injected due to their capers.
I was happy romance was hinted at but not explored. The book remained true to being a murder mystery.
The Bad
The writing was not as sharp as I expected it to be. It dragged on a bit so I couldn’t finish the book in one sitting. But I didn’t want to skim read it.
The perp and the motive were easily guessable.
The Conclusion
Being formulaic with using organ donation and cell memory as a backdrop, the book was an interesting read in most parts.
FYI – the corneas have no blood supply so cell memory which could capture the vision of the deceased was not possible.
