My review
Who pushed Lauren off the cliff?
An enjoyable whodunit where everyone is a suspect. Every character has a twisted character in their past spreading their wicked influence into the present. The line between good and bad wavers. The main character Marissa, once the best friend of Lauren, finds herself swaying from one secret to the other.
My first book by author A. J. Banner, and the book captured me with easy prose, maintained tension, and a race to the finish. The author has understood how a murder mystery should be and has kept up the same fast pace from start to finish.
The protagonist Marissa, was a capable independent woman, she solved the mystery before the police. I wondered a bit about that. The cops are the last to know!!!
Could I guess the perpetrator? Nahhh!! I was so busy suspecting the obvious that I didn’t think of the angle of the plot revealed. So overall a good read on a cozy evening.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Lake Union Publishing, and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
My rating : 4 stars

You too Shalini. Take care
You’re really on a roll this week, Shalini! Lots of nice reviews. This one in particular looks interesting. I have added to my TBR list. Have a great weekend! 🙂
Hey Leslie, you are a sweetheart… Oh yes, this week has been a heartbreak week, was ditched royally by someone I liked. Decided books were a safer bet. Hence I have reviews scheduled for the next week too… Yayyy me…
I’m so sorry, Shalini. I hope it wasn’t a man who hurt you. Shall I come kick his ass? Never fear, I can send a hunky dreg your way. Which one would you prefer? 🙂
It was a MAN who hurt me… And I do not even know the reason.. Just was blocked… If you are sending a dreg, can you send one who would love me rather than kicking the man’s arse. I would love Tony please pretty please
Logan would tell me workout – bleh
Noah would be a great help I can always ask Tony to get Noah to hack accounts
The others are flirts.
I am as damaged as Tony is on the inside so Tony is mighty fine. (P.S Tracker is already booked)
Another beach scenario….. hmm…. Glad this one kept your attention.
Hahaha are you remembering dancing on the beach one Mayan night a year ago 😜
I see Nicole’s shawl was left on the sand…. 😆
Hahaha that was your shawl, you gave up trying to cover her bare ass… She is one nature girl 🐻🐻
hahahahaha
Brace yourself, my dear. Tony’s on his way to give you some steamy nights… 🙂
You are a cutie.. Thanks for Tony… I am going to have glorious days and nights 😉😉😜😜😂😂
Yay – glad you liked this one, I got it at Netgallery
Yp it’s a good fast read
I love that the review was short and to the point! 🙂 I love unresolvable (?) mysteries haha I mean I love to try to guess what is going to happen and how is the bad one! haha nice to know that the book is not that predictable! haha
Hahaha sometimes I write short reviews sometimes long… I think depends on the mood. I am glad you liked it ☺️😊
That makes sense! Keep it up! :3
I do love a good unexpected ending!!! I try never to suspect the obvious though, it is rarely ever them!! (although, sometimes I get way too OUT of the obvious! Ha ha! 😉)
Haha true. Acc to Nina that’s your pashmina shawl on the beach…
Thank you for another wonderful reviews, Shalini! Love it! Michael
