Many thanks to Rachel and Rachel’s Random Resources for my spot on this Blog Tour.
Book 2 in the series and it showed me the lives of best friends Shelby and Janna. A slice of life and a romantic story all wrapped up in a pretty bow.
Shelby had her own past, filled with monsters so to say, and when Shane and his 3 year old son Nate entered her life, she knew there would be a major change, and it was now up to her to face the past bravely to get to the future.
My first book by Deborah King had me smiling at the enthusiasm of the two women. They were the best of friends, and understood each other well. Deborah’s writing made the story sweet with the friendship and cheer in the prose. The characters felt like a family, bound by love.
Second chance romance had its own charm, it was sweet to see Shane and his family weave their lives with Shelby. Nate the 3 year old was an absolute sweetheart. He tugged those invisible heart strings that I never knew I had. Shelby too showed her strength in overcoming her distrust and giving life a second chance.
Simple words and a direct plot line made this a good change from my other books. I was all ready to sink my teeth into a complex, adrenaline filled thriller.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Deborah King is a spirited woman who was inspired to pursue her dreams due to her mother’s death from early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She has the unique ability to read people and tackle life’s hardships.
Deborah is a distinctive new voice in women’s fiction with a dash of romance and inspiration. After raising two children, working with a not-for-profit wildlife rescue organization, and reading too many books to count, she retired from her personal training and weight management business to follow her dream of writing.
She is extremely grateful for having the opportunity to work with many different people sharing and teaching what inspires her, which you’ll catch glimpses of in her books.
Deborah’s lived in several diverse areas in her city as well as three years in a rural setting. She lives in Missouri with her supportive husband, two rescue cats, who believe they’re dogs, her mini fitness store, and her eclectic collection of books
She’s about to launch her dream business. The last thing she needs is a distracting housemate and his son…
Shelby is excited to open a shop with her best friend. But with Janna just-married and moved out, she worries their hopes of starting a boutique will never come true. And things get more complicated when her old distrust of men is put to the test by her handsome new roommate and his little boy…
With Oktoberfest decorations forgotten and replaced by Christmas cheer, she slowly allows Shane and the child a space in her heart. But she doesn’t trust her second chance at romance or the success of her shop when surprising news threatens her newly minted courage.
Can Shelby find the strength to let her ambitions flourish, along with her new passion?
