Many thanks To Rachel and Rachel’s Random Resources for my spot on this Blog Tour.
A sweet book of finding oneself after being betrayed by an infidel husband.
My first book by author Barbara Quinn, I quite liked the way the story was written. It was formulaic with a low self-esteem wife who fleed the scene and went to a different town, rented a house, found a sexy neighbor, friends rallied around her, husband was a boor, and she got her life and confidence back. But the author, by weaving the songs of Bruce Springsteen, gave this story a different, deeper meaning.
I liked how the lyrics of the songs heard by the main character Sofia were so befitting the things she was going through. The author chose great songs to highlight here. Being nearly 50, I could see how she difficult it was for her to start a new life.
Hope and the good times with her best friends as shown in the book, made me look at my life too in a different light. Overall, a sweet story which intertwined the two main themes of living life in every moment and never too late to start life.
I received a free ARC from Rachel and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Coming home to catch her husband with his face between the long, silky legs of another woman is the last thing Sofia expects—and on today of all days. But, after scratching an expletive into his Porsche and setting the cheating bastard’s clothes on fire, she cranks up her beloved Bruce and flees, vowing to never look back.
Finding solace in the peaceful beachside town of Bradley Beach, NJ, Sof is determined to start over. And, with the help of best friends, new acquaintances, a sexy neighbor, and the powerful songs of Springsteen, this may be the place where her wounds can heal. But, as if she hasn’t faced her share of life’s challenges, a final flurry of obstacles awaits.
In order to head courageously toward the future, Sofia must first let go of her past, find freedom, and mend her broken soul.

This sounds like a really sweet story with some great themes. Wonderful review Shalini.
Thank you so much ❤️
Well, of course, it worked as it featured The Boss!
True… ❤️
The author found a way to reinvent an age old theme. I do like her immediate revenge—no more than he deserved. Good review.
Thank you..
It was a difficult review for me as I didn’t know what new things to add
