Many thanks to Emma and Damp Pebbles Blog Tours for my spot on this Blog Tour.
This was a cute fun read almost cosiesh in its setting. 2 friends Cat and Amy went on a holiday to Cypress, met a lot of friendly guests, and a not so friendly one died. Cat suspected it was unnatural, police confirmed it, and Cat started her investigation.
My first book by author Susan Handley, I think I would have loved the main character more if I had read the first book as she intrigued me completely in the story. Nonetheless she was quite entertaining. I got to see her intelligence here and her instincts in it. Boy, she took some risks too.
The book was a pure murder mystery, even though Cat was a cop, she was on a holiday. So it was fun to see her at work on a holiday. Her friendship with Amy was fun, which brought humor into the story. There were moments where the two were in a tizzy fight.
The investigation was detailed where Cat had to negotiate through the clues to get to the killer. The author maintained the aura of mystery down the pages which had me turning pages to reach the who, why, and how of the murder.
An easy breezy read light read.
I received a digital copy of the book from Emma and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Susan Handley grew up in the Midlands and despite a love of literature, and crime fiction in particular, she never dreamt of being able to carve out a career as a published writer. But the desire to write never left her and after years of writing by night she has at last been able to share the results of her efforts.
Susan now lives in a small village in rural Kent with her husband and three cats. When she’s not indulging in her love of writing crime fiction she loves walking (the hillier the better), bike riding (the flatter the better) and tending her veggie patch.
On the sun-soaked island of Cyprus, Cat McKenzie should have been enjoying a relaxing holiday. Instead, she finds herself delving deeper and deeper into the death of a fellow guest. With a keen intuition and an inability to walk away from even the smallest of loose ends, she continues to dig, uncovering the way into the world of a ruthless killer.
Outside of her jurisdiction, Cat is forced to use all of her wiles to find the murderer and bring them to account; a task made all the more difficult given the cold-hearted killer’s cunning.
Choice not chance determines human destiny, but away from home, on sunnier shores, people aren’t always what they seem and choices can be ill informed.

I like relaxing mysteries like this between more intense reads, otherwise, my head would explode, which would be unsightly 😉
What about the romance you read? Do they make your body explode? 😂😂
I understand
BUT I still like my intense plot lines
Thank you, my lovely xx
Thank you ❤️ 😘
Great review! You will like A Poisonous Journey by Malia Zaidi. In general, it also has the same concept. the main character flees to her cousin’s place where she meets 2 guests, the unfriendly one dies. It’s a historical cozy mystery and it’s on kindle unlimited.
Thank you Yesha I was supposed to read her books this year 🤦🏻♀️ forgot completely and two other authors’ series.
It has been a hectic year
Thank you so much ❤️ for this reminder
No problem, it happens. 🙂
I downloaded it before I forgot her books
