SHE IS BOLD. SHE IS SASSY. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY A KICKASS WARRIOR. SHE IS MYLA.
The illustrated version was super fun to read
With a ghoul handler, she sent souls to Hell by battling and vanquishing them. She was a quasi-demon who fought in the arena. The final frontier before Hell.
HE IS ARROGANT. HE IS RUDE. AND THE ATTRACTION BETWEEN THEM IS OFF THE CHARTS. HE IS LINCOLN.
Loved the banter between them where attraction sizzled in the background. Make no mistake, this ain’t a love story. MYLA was in the quest of finding the truth about her father from the head of Angels. The king of hell too had laid his sight on her.
My second book by author Christina Bauer, I was majorly impressed with the complexities of the realms she had created. MYLA was spot-on with her quips and confidence. Her tail was an extra weapon.
Dipped in the ink of love, the author carefully painted broad strokes of her character while using the fine brush to develop her down the pages. Compassion and maturity were seen in her as the story progressed. Lincoln too warmed the cockles of my heart as their attraction showered sparks on the pages.
I flew through the pages, the illustrations adding an extra layer to my imagination. The words were vividly colorful, I could envision the scenes in my mind. And the fight scenes simply threw my warrior heart into a tailspin, screaming with joy.
A couple of niggles – too long and rambling. Some of the characters could have their chatter edited. Nevertheless the soul of the book captured my attention and let me travel through its realms.
Overall, a fast read with quirky, confident characters set in a layered world and fantastic, heart-pounding action scenes.
