Many thanks to publisher Bloodhound Books for my spot on this Blog Tour.
Happy Publication Day!!
Quite a fun read it was. A police procedural at the looks of it, but it had the deeper core of human emotions. So I would call it a gentle investigation of a cold case.
A best selling crime author had a new book published, and the murders were detailed…too detailed. A retired cop soon realized that it was exactly like one of her cases where certain details were never released, even to the family. That got the ball rolling and a link into the novels and police files were searched for…. Till the culprit was found.
My first book by author Pamela Murray, I found it quite entertaining in most parts. The investigation had intrigue. Data going back to more than two decades were connected. The pace was steady, emotions were high at certain points.
The main characters were quite strong but flawed too. They had strength in their convictions. I found the ending rushed as I still had questions. Nevertheless, it was wonderful to see the human side of the cops and the dynamics of the team.
Overall, a fun read!!
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Is the truth stranger than fiction?
Newly retired Hannah Sanderson loves reading crime novels so when her favourite author, Jonas Burke, comes to town for a book signing, she wants to meet him. However, when she starts reading his latest novel, she finds that one of the crimes featured in it is too close to home.
When DS Sally Fielding discovers that her police officer father died as a result of being tasered, which caused his heart attack, she is shocked. But when Hannah Sanderson goes on to explain that his death is described in intricate detail in a novel she has recently read, Sally’s suspicions are raised, and she begins an investigation.
With a small team in place, Sally and her colleagues cross-reference all the descriptions of Burke’s fictitious crimes with cases in the police database.
Will DS Fielding be able to solve the mystery before anyone else gets hurt?
And is the truth really stranger than fiction?
