Many thanks to Gina and Cheryl and PICT for my spot on this Blog Tour.
A gripping thriller with convoluted plots where some of the reveals were big shockers as I didn’t ever expect the links between them. The author was quite wicked in the way she connected the storyline.
Savannah was an attorney who was dedicated to her job and committed to loving her niece. Dustin was her ex and her niece’s father. Yeah yeah, being a man, he made many mistakes. One of them was hooking up with her sister. Jett a newspaper journalist broke out the headline news about 4 men and their time in Thailand. One of them was Dustin. A plane crashes and Savannah’s clients were subpoenaed. Savannah and Jett join forces to solve the mysteries and murders.
My first book by author Cata Putman, and it was all systems go from the first page. The story was action packed with something new every few chapters. Suspense built up insidiously, and like a surpent coiled, it released its thrill in the last few pages with the final truth.
The story was detailed, and the subplots well linked. The author kept the pace rocking, and there was always a nibble or two that made me come back to my kindle after each of my chore.
It was captivating, it was twisty. It had emotions and rocking suspense. A complete page turner.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Savannah Daniels has worked hard to build her law practice, to surround herself with good friends, and to be the loyal aunt her troubled niece can always count on. But since her ex-husband’s betrayal, she has trouble trusting anyone.
Jett Glover’s father committed suicide over a false newspaper report that ruined his reputation. Now a fierce champion of truth, Jett is writing the story of his journalism career—an international sex-trafficking exposé that will bring down a celebrity baseball player and the men closest to him, including Savannah’s ex-husband.
When Jett’s story breaks, tragedy ensues. Then a commercial airline crashes, and one of Savannah’s clients is implicated in the crash. Men connected to the scandal, including her ex, begin to die amid mysterious circumstances, and Savannah’s niece becomes an unwitting target.
Against their better instincts, Jett and Savannah join ranks to sort the facts from fiction. But can Savannah trust the reporter who threw her life into chaos? And can Jett face the possibility that he’s made the biggest mistake of his life?

To be honest: I’m getting a little bit tired of lawyers as main protagonist. John Grisham set the tune and the rest followed suit. In real life, most people detest lawyers. And then this suing culture, which is one of the main causes the US hasn’t an affordable healthcare system. Meanwhile we’re reading books that glorify this profession and make it to the cornerstone of all important social processes.
This was fiction. Read and forget it. Every profession had its own good and bad points
I know it’s fiction, but then: fiction is contributing to the way people build up a worldview. And I can agree to a couple of novels that center around lawyers as some white knights, but to indoctrinate a whole society with that kind of nonsense? OK some lawyers got killed into their line of duty. But as many as our novels suggest? Most of them (99 %) are just power or money grabbers.
WOW!! That is a heck of an endorsement. I need to get my hands on a copy, and SOON!!!!
Thank you ❤️ I hope you get to it soon

I like the way you describe wanting to keep returning to this book in between chores. I love to read that way. I can dwell on the plot while doing something mindless.
