Many thanks to publisher Bookouture for my spot on this Blog Tour.
A brilliant book from beginning to end which thrilled me off my seat many a time with excitement.
Sara had a beautiful, loving family. When husband Matt was made redundant and she lost her savings, her one mistake started the ball rolling with devastating after effects
I have read all of Rona’s books, and this was one of my favorites. The nuances of naiveté of the main character mixed with the suspense of the plot added a dash of spice, making this a heart-stopping thriller. Relationships were etched in a comfortable zone bringing me to a lull up to a point where the author then subtly pushed me toward the realms of my doubts.
Many delicious bits kept popping up which tingled my spidey senses and made the plot so juicy. The author certainly knew how to keep me on my toes through the entire book. The roads shown and led on were the delicious pieces of mirage that I thought to be true, only to realize in the mid-book I was walking on air. And plop did I land on my arse with some shocking reveals.
Sleight of hand was the trademark of this suspenseful writer, whose ink was pure magic, dipped in oodles of suspense. Not giving me a moment to gather my senses, I was gripped by this compulsive read, an oasis in the world that had gone into crisis. Absolutely enthralling!!
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

How far would you go to protect your happy home?
Sara made one promise to herself when she was growing up in foster care: that if she was lucky enough to have a family, she’d always do whatever it took to protect them. Looking around her home with its cosy kitchen and living room, where her energetic teenage daughters and gorgeous four-year-old son all eat, play and live together, she knows she’d do anything to keep them safe.
So when Sara’s husband Matt loses his job and every shred of his confidence with it, she knows it’s up to her to bring the family back from the brink. Though she doesn’t know where she can possibly find the money they need to keep afloat.
Until her boss at work offers her a deal. He’ll help out. She just has to do him one little favour. But could trusting him save Sara’s family, or will it be a mistake that costs her absolutely everything?

Oh I love a book that can keep me on my toes and endlessly (as well as fruitlessly) guessing. One Mistake sounds interesting and I’m going to check it out further. Fab review, Shalini 🙂
This was fantastic. I hope you like the book too. ❤ What are you reading now?
This book sounds great, I’ll have to add it to my list!!
Thank you so much ❤️ it was great
Great review but…’spidey senses’…and…’land on my arse’…Not sure what’s going on here. I didn’t realise princesses spoke this way. LOL!!!
Hahaha well we Princesses too love spiderman. I love bat man personally. Oh yeah I really slipped and landed on the floor with a thud. Had bruises for a week and teh aches still to go along with it
Laurence, Shalini is no longer a princess as she has been duly elevated to queenly status – so she can now speak out of her arse as well as fall on it 😉
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂 Now he will think about the arse hole 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂omg I don’t know if this is sexual or comedy
Thank you for another wonderful review, Shalini! Best wishes, MIchael
Thank you so much ❤️ Michael. How are you?
Thank you too, Shalini! I am fine. Hope you are too. The last weeks there was some information about Covid in India, but now our TV-stations are again far away from information from outside Germany. Best wishes, Michael
It is increasing beyond belief and beyond what they are reporting. It has gone bonkers… Completely mad
I am sorry for this, Shalini! Here we now have a decrease of causes, but honestly its will not least too long. Our economy needs workers, the health of people is not seen as important these days. ;-( Stay well and save, my dear. Be blessed! Michael
Stay blessed Michael. It is people like you who give me strength to fight another day
Thank you for the very kind words, Shalini! I am really honoured. Enjoy your weekend, and stay save. Michael
I can’t resist a juicy plot! I am often careful with naive characters, as if they go extreme, I start rolling my eyes too much to keep reading, haha! Fab review! xxx
Most times they do go on the extreme… It is like the heroine going into a dark barn where a killer is killing off everyone. You try to tell her not to go. She still goes in. 😝😝
Haha, oh yes, I love yelling at those characters ‘don’t, just don’t you silly!!!’
Ooh this sounds like such a good read!
It was quite a fun one. I hope you enjoy it too ❤️
Fantastic review! I definitely love the sound of this one. xx
Thank you so much ❤️ Yvo. It was really fantastic
I love your line: “suspenseful writer, whose ink was pure magic, dipped in oodles of suspense“ That is pure magic too!
Aww you are most kind, I think sometimes books inspire me. Yesterday I wrote a review of 3 lines as the book was good but I had no words to describe it. Some days are literary and some, I am too numb with a D
😂We all have days like that!
