MY REVIEW
I nearly DNFed this book. Both the audio and digital version did nothing to pique my interest.
Beth’s mother left her early 3 decades ago, and then returned out of the blue. Beth was overjoyed and welcomed her into her home without verifying based on a tattoo. Heard of DNA?
Strange things started happening to Beth, first it was innocuous then devastating ones.
By now you should have guessed how the story would go, even if you were a non thriller reader. But darling Beth could not decipher or understand who could be behind the actions. Duhhh!!
Maybe Beth should have read this review. It would have made it easy to guess who was behind it all. But she didn’t. And the story progressed further.
Telling me constantly of one bad thing she had done as a teen made me guess the final reveal long before it unfurled. The mid section had repetitive actions where it had been written in so many thrillers.
Such a story had already been done many, many times. The editors of the publishing house should have recognized it and modified the story with more twists. The final twist was fun but could be guessed as Beth did one altruistic deed. In the rest, she was kind of a bimbette.
And yes there is a lot of body shaming to the point my t-shirt started feeling tight due to my tires of fat. Ugghh. Some the others made her feel and a few, she felt it herself.

I downloaded the digital and audio version of the book from an online retail, and this is my journey down its pages, straight from the heart. STRICTLY HONEST and UNBIASED.

I can understand your point of view, it was a slowly building tale.
😂😂….I wouldn’t appreciate the body shaming parts either, Shalini. Sorry this one was a bust.
