You know it is true love when the words ring true
You know it is true love when the sky is blue
You know it is true love when the people are warm
You know it is true love when you see the farm
You know it is true love when the emotions envelop you
You know it is true love when the dreams come true
You know it is true love when the pastries are a delight
You know it is true love when the pasta is light
You know it is true love when you love the characters
You know it is true love when the story delivers
You know it is true love when you long for Italy
You know it is true love when author Elena transports you magically.
Such was my relationship with this book and the beauty it foretold.
Julia came to Italy to find her birth mother, Daniel wanted to visit his family and set up his career. Fate intervened, and both kept meeting each other. And then the beauty of Italy and their destiny took over.
It might be a love story where the boy met the girl and disasters struck and they traveled together. A story where I knew that it might be a happily ever after. But what I didn’t know is how much it would affect me.
I didn’t know how much I would find myself lost in the depths of the writing. I could have never imagined how the lines would show me the locales of Italy as it unfurled with the beauty of nature and the warmth of the people. And of course the pastries and pasta and the wine.
What I would have liked more was emotions. I wanted my heart to be broken and then rejoined by the author.
Nonetheless, my first book by author Elena Mikalsen, thawed my frozen heart. The characters made me smile, their problems brought out a chuckle or two, but it was the love which developed between them which showed the colors of hope where two broken souls could perhaps heal each other.
A beautiful love story
I received a free ARC from Suzy and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Julia Ramos, in Italy to find her birth mother, rescues a dog, is nearly run over by a handsome Brit, and gets evicted from her rental apartment. Not a perfect trip.
Daniel Stafford wants to visit his family in Tuscany—after his girlfriend dumps him for their Italian driver, he botches a work presentation in Rome, and an assertive American falls in front of his car.
When their two disastrous lives collide, they end up sleeping on the side of the road. Falling in love with Italy—and each other—is the least of their concerns.
