Many thanks to Kim Nash and Bookouture for inviting me to the Blog Tour of this beautiful book by Brooke Harris
A beautiful journey filled with family, relationships, pain, friendship, and at the core of it LOVE. Not the love shown in movies, but the kinds that connects the hearts and the souls, the kinds that is felt in life and beyond, the kinds that becomes the colors of the rainbow and the twinkle of the star!!
The story goes thus; Holly is called back home as her Nana is dying. She soon realizes that her Nana knows her far deeper than she can guess and has a message for her in the form of a book written and kept in the attic. Holly brings it out and starts reading the story of her Nana Annie. This is Annie’s story, a saga of her pain and her eternal love for Sketch.
This story by author Brooke Harris made me cry as I read through the pages. Each chapter showed Annie’s courage and love for her mother as both suffered through the torture and physical abuse at the hands of the father, but stayed strong for each other. In such a strife, came Sketch bringing with him a love which was like a balm to the damaged soul and a hope for freedom and dreams.
Brooke’s writing brought out the bubbles of emotions, ripping my heart into pieces and joining them back. I cried when Annie did, it was so powerful, the last few pages saw me sobbing and breaking down completely. Brooke squeezed every last bit of my emotions out from my heart till I had nothing more left to give.
A book which touched my cold heart and made me long for the stars. I see my dreams as clearly as Annie saw hers!!
When it rains, look for the rainbow. When it’s dark, look for the stars!!
I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Bookouture, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!!

USA Today bestselling author Brooke Harris is a self diagnosed romance addict. Realising at the age of seven that being a real person and not a cartoon character may prove a hindrance when applying for a role as a Disney Princess, she decided to create her own stories. As a grown up Brooke tried swapping the heels and tiaras in her stories for sex and revenge and published her first book, Rules of Harte in 2014. The Harte Series went on to become a #1 international bestseller.
Brooke lives in Kildare, Ireland with her young family. She daydreams about a climate where it doesn’t rain every day, but secretly she loves the green fields and heritage of Ireland.

Holly was overjoyed to discover she was pregnant. But the baby is unwell, and her relationship is fracturing under the stress. Just when she is at her lowest, she receives the worst news of all: her beloved nana, Annie, is dying.
But Annie has one final wish before she leaves. She asks Holly to find a memory box in the attic, and to read the handwritten pages within it to her, the most precious things she owns.
It’s the story of Arthur ‘Sketch’ Talbot, Annie’s first – and last – love, and how much he sacrificed to save her from a home where she didn’t feel safe. It’s Annie’s promise to Holly that it doesn’t matter how long you love someone – but how much.
As Holly reads her nana’s story to her one last time, could it help her find the strength to face her own future? Is fulfilling her grandmother’s final wish really a gift for Holly?

This sounds like a really hard book to read, but a really good one too. Your review brought through the emotion of the story better than the summary. I love the title.
