A quick read was this book with short snappy chapters. Eva Rae Thomas, the former FBI profiler, now helped her boyfriend Detective Matt with cases when she was hit by a deja vu. A killer was copying all the cases she had worked while in FBI till it reached closer to her home.
My first book by Willow Rose, the story started with 3 prom girls disappearing and soon led to a great merry-go-round by the killer with no distinct MO. I liked how the main character was played using cases from her book. Had it not been a few unforseen circumstances, the killer would have gotten away. Eva Rae seemed well suited for this role; her past and present were amalgamated well. In spite of being second in the series, I could read it just fine. I liked how hints of previous book just made me long to get to it.
Then came my niggles, a bit more of active investigation would uplift the story. The reactions of the characters felt slightly off. The book ended in cliffhanger.
A suspenseful mystery, a vengeful intelligent killer, and my need to get to the truth made this a 2 hour breakfast read.
I downloaded the digital version of the book from kindle unlimited, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Copycat killers freak me out. It’s bad enough you have the original murderer out there (or hopefully behind bars) but then you get all the weirdos who think they can do it better!
Thoughtful review, Shalini, thanks.
Thank you so much ❤️
Ooh, great review! I read several is her novels years ago. Maybe I should start again.
This was my first by her. It was fun
A 2 hour breakfast read. Wow…2 hours?!? Holy moly. Anyways, this book sounds pretty interesting. It reminds me a bit of the movie Copycat (again totally different story, but still) 😊
Not seen the movie. Sounds interesting
It is, it stars Sigourney Weaver 😊
You lost me at cliffhanger, I totally despise them! They are vile marketing contrivances and obviously an evil product of the devil. ;(
I agree this had a major one
This sounds interesting. great review!
Thank you so much ❤️ it was fun.. Just the cliffhanger… *shaking head*
I know the copycat killer angle has been done to death, but there’s something about it that always clicks with me. Wonderful review!
Thank you so much ❤️ this had the copy cat but it had hidden depths connecting past to the present
Wonderful review, Shalini. Glad you were able to jump in at book 2 and still enjoy it. I do like the sound of the case so might check out the series if I get the chance.
I hope you like it too. It was fun
