My Review
What was it all about
The Urban Boys by author K. N. Smith is a light fantasy, almost a gentle read in this genre.
An event caused an enhancement of senses in the five best friends.
Fight against the evil threatening them was the core of the book.
How it made me feel - The Good
A short read that gave the picture of what happened in this town. I liked the friendship between the boys.
The enhancement of senses was a cool power to have. It was nice to see the boys go from being high school kids to saving the town.
The description of the locales gave a good imagery.
Good winning over evil was a winning edge to write, and I liked that the boys saved the day.
The Bad
Too much of unnecessary descriptions not pertaining to the story diluted the thrill.
The voices of all the characters were the same so it was confusing to know who was uttering the dialogues.
More thrill and excitement was needed to be infused in the words; the pace was slow in places.
The Conclusion
A gentle introduction to the fantasy genre for beginners.
I downloaded the digital version of the book from an online retail, and this is my journey down its pages, straight from the heart. STRICTLY HONEST and UNBIASED.
If you’ve loved the review, buy me a cuppa to perk me up.
