My review
I loved, loved this book. The story made me soar in the skies of Vaan where the sun shone forever, and it grounded me to the realm of Vandram on Earth, where the evil Queen had a new plan.
At one end were the Aerials and at the other, the humans, mortal enemies on Earth since the past 600 years. Then there were the Aerials in Vaan who had their own agenda. Till circumstances evolved with the discovery of a new weapon which changed the dynamics of this equation, and things started happening.
Nupur Chowdhury’s book is one of the fabulous fantasy thriller I have had the opportunity to read in this year. And what a keen eye for details! Her descriptions for Earth and Vaan were just perfect to imagine.
Her characters had the right attitude and pizzazz. There was Ruban Kinoh a hunter of the Aerials who attracted my interest initially. Dynamic, strong, a bit rigid in his views.
And then entered Shwaan/Ashwin, and he just stole my heart. He was this awesome, laidback, humorous, a hunk who was cool, casual, and level-headed. And he fought and defended. Absolutely my kind of a man!!
Nupur’s writing was clear, the plot had its intricacies, and all the threads were well tied at the end. There was the good vs evil with secrets and revelations. The only thing which niggled me slightly was the lengthy explanation and speeches at the end.
This was a complete book. I spent my entire Sunday evening with it. I didn’t want it to end. From curiosity to betrayal to vengeance, this book incited all my emotions, the fight scenes had my pulse racing. Just wow!! I simply loved it all!!
I received a copy from the author, and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
My rating : 4.5 stars
About the Author
Nupur Chowdhury is the author of A Flight of Broken Wings and The Classroom Effect. Apart from novels, she enjoys writing poetry and the occasional short story. She was four when she started writing. Now, some 20 years later, it’s more an addiction than a hobby.
Nupur likes coffee, street food, fanfiction, and sleep. She dislikes yogurt, slow internet, unnecessary cliffhangers, and being woken up in the morning.
You can find her on Facebook, Wattpad, Goodreads, and her blog. And if you can’t, it’s probably because she’s busy sleeping.

Book blurb
Six hundred years ago, humanity rose up in revolt against the Aeriels, who were driven from earth and back into their homeland of Vaan after a bloody and glorious war.
Eight years ago, Ruban’s home was destroyed and his family murdered by an Aeriel.
When a new Aeriel threat looms over Ragah, the capital city of Vandram, Ruban Kinoh must do everything in his power to avenge his family’s past and protect the future of his country.
Which is hard enough without being saddled with a pretty and pompous aristocrat, who seems as useless as he is vain. Faced with a conspiracy that might cost humanity its hard-won freedom, and accompanied by the bejeweled and glitter-clad Ashwin Kwan, Ruban begins his journey into a land where the past and the future intertwine.
