Many thanks to publisher Bloodhound Books for my spot on this Book Blast.
This was an interesting read filled with legal and personal drama with Natalie right in the center of it all.
A failed relationship and an ill mother brought Natalie back home where she was offered a job in her old office. The boss’s son was arrested and she had to find the truth.
My first book by author Caro Land, the first half had more of the shenanigans of the people in the office. I got to know the interpersonal relationships and the politics. Natalie was sweet and tough. I liked the way she got along with everyone and knew how to manage explosive situations.
The second half had the boss’s son and colleagues making her work for her salary. A few truths came out, Natalie had to rush to deal with it. I liked the way she worked. There was romance and heartbreak, but she persevered. I was more aghast about the happenings in her personal life than professional.
The story gave the vibe of a gossipy television series. It was fun and entertaining. I wanted an amalgamation of The Good Wives with Suits. I got more of the Desperate Housewives in suits. Overall, it was a good read. More drama than suspense. Quite entertaining.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
