Oooh this was so good and gossipy… I love me a perfect whodunit.

A murder on the set… Actually it was by the cliffside… But close enough. They were shooting for a television series, and the victim was a producer. Molly, who worked alongside the victim was the suspect, so she had to work with her ex, Connor, to find the real murderer.

My first book by Kate Johnson, the book was slow going initially, but once the murder occurred nothing could stop me from getting to the murderer. The author’s writing was friendly and detailed. I got to know about everything that happened in the village.

The characters were many, and each gave me a good amount of gossip… You know how these actors and the journalists are, they want to tell me all the happenings on the set and off it too. I loved piecing together all the clues with Molly. Both the main characters made a cute couple, they had gotten together the previous summer for 17 days… I really really wanted to be a fly in the wall to know what went wrong.

The entire setting of the book brought out the inner curiosity… I did feel like a journalist wanting to know who was hooking up with whom. Eclectic characters, friendly village, the crew of a television series, two main characters who had broken up, one victim with flies crawling in her blood all made this a fun breakfast read.

What more could I ask for?

I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

The perfect holiday destination. The perfect place for murder…

Molly Higgins never expected to be caught up in a murder investigation. All she’d hoped for this year was to work hard, save enough money to open her very own café on the Cornish coast and avoid her ex, Conor Blackstone, who has just arrived back in the village.

But when she and Conor discover a body on the cliffside in Port Trevan they are thrown once more together. Molly is keen to leave the mystery to the police, but when she finds herself their top suspect, Molly has no choice but to catch the killer herself – before it is too late.
