Can one escape the past? Going per author M. A. Comley’s new book, I wouldn’t say so. The author sure made her main character go through a wringer of situations. Panic was well felt in the Lucy’s life with nightmares holding her hostage.
A new love had Lucy in a dither. Was Michael as good as he seemed to be? His rich family surely didn’t think she was good enough. Soon strange things happened as her wedding date came closer. Who was tormenting her, trying to take away her loved ones?
Having read a few books by this author, I was entrenched in Lucy’s life as I scrolled down my kindle. Hints of the past seeped through. The author kept them well intertwined. The story moved back and forth, showing me the different shades of Lucy’s life. Her best friend Trisha was the most generous of characters ever written. I liked how she supported Lucy so selflessly.
The characters were well slotted in their roles. At one point, I too didn’t know whom Lucy should trust. Things kept mounting around her. The red herrings and lies bundled up in her life. I liked how the author heaped stress on her head, making me long to see how Lucy would deal with it all.
Fear did strange things to people, I too found Lucy taking decisions that I would not. Her dialogues could have been stronger with emotions creating the darker atmosphere which the story needed. Nonetheless, the story showed me what it intended to.
Overall, it kept me engrossed in its pages, I too wanted to Know The Truth

If you would have liked the dialogue to be stronger and the atmosphere darker, I probably would too but it sounds like this is an author I need to keep an eye out for.
