Many thanks to Sarah and BOTBS Publicity for my spot on this Blog Tour.
An exciting book which caught me most unawares. Scientology was something I have heard on the television via a famous actor… But didn’t know details about it. A mission impossible.
Armed with my enthusiasm and knowing I was going to into a murder mystery, I started this book with great gutso. Luke did not believe that his best friend Viktor killed his daughter and then hanged himself. It was his conviction which caused him to investigate further only to discover his friend had been part of Scientology 20 years ago. Something was off as more people from this sinister cult were found dead. He set forth…
My first book by author Stefan Malmstrom saw me rushing through the pages like the winds in a storm. The book got progressively interesting with each turn of the page. The story had short, snappy chapters where I got to know all the facets of investigation which went on to make this a multi-dimensional book. Scientology and its beliefs along with the details of how members of this cult lured people to join in were most enlightening.
The author’s detailing of Luke’s character enticed me. Who doesn’t love a bad boy turned good? He was steadfast and quite sexy (what can I say, heart wants what the heart wants). His determination was thriving force of this book which even caused the cops to take the deaths seriously.
The final reveal shocked me, I loved the turn of events. The nuances were lost in translation. Nonetheless, a rocking read over breakfast was how I liked to start my day.
I received a free ARC from Sarah and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Stefan Malmstrom was a former news journalist who has worked for Sveriges Radio and Swedish TV4. Today he works as a consultant, lecturer and author. At a young age, he was manipulated into the Church of Scientology in Hassleholm, a small town in Southern Sweden. His first book is based on his experiences in the cult. He lives in Karlskrona in Sweden with his family.
THE PAST WILL NEVER LET YOU GO…
When a four-year-old girl and her father are found dead in the Swedish city of Karlskrona, the police quickly conclude it was a murder-suicide, a tragedy requiring no further investigation.
But Luke Bergmann, a reformed criminal still haunted by his violent past, believes they are wrong. The dead man, Viktor, was his best friend, and Luke knows he would never commit such a horrific crime.
When more bodies turn up, Luke is certain the same killer has struck again. Alone, he embarks on an investigation which reaches back through decades to his friend’s involvement with a sinister cult and dark secrets are exposed as Luke struggles to keep his own long-buried demons hidden away.
And when Luke finds himself in a killer’s sights, his search for the truth becomes the fight of his life.
Can Luke get justice for Viktor and his daughter and prove his best friend was not a murderer, or will the shadows of the past overwhelm him?

I had a suspicion that you liked to start your day with a bit of murder 😉
Always…. The romance bores me, horror is for the night, cozy is for afternoon. Murder and mayhem is the perfect breakfast read
