Many thanks to Giselle and Xpresso Tours for my spot on this Blog Tour.
Book 2 in the series but book 1 for me, the story reminded me of the movie Jumper in a tangential way.
Chase and Alyx could travel through all 12 dimensions. Chase was the Keeper of the watch who had to jump to a new dimension every month and complete the quests. And there were Hunters who wanted to destroy the watch.
In this book, the main characters were in dimension 8 which had witches and warlocks, and strange hybrid characters like chimera. When I started the book, I was completely confused, but after the first couple of chapters, it became clearer.
Both Alyx and Chase got separated soon after their jump, and each had their own set of troubles. Magic ruled this dimension, and there was one the Sovereign Warlock who wanted them both.
Short action-filled chapters, showing me the circumstances that both faced, made me turn the pages faster. The friends and foes added to the spice. I didn’t know whom to trust as each had their own agenda. Love too made its foray on the fringes with a kiss or two. There were many POV, but it was the Sovereign’s which pulled me in. He had something up his sleeve.
The whole book rocked, but it was the last magical war which made an exciting finish with a few shocking casualties. Kristen’s writing kept all the characters on the go. Their tasks, adventures, magical situations along with the Sovereign’s demands made this a fun read. I felt book 1 should be read to understand the backstory.
I received a free ARC from Giselle and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Kristen L. Jackson lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two sons, and three large-breed dogs. She writes in the early morning and on the weekends at their cabin in the Pocono mountains in PA. She has been an avid reader all her life, and discovered after her children were grown that she loves writing. As a teacher for over 20 years, she has experience with children of varying ages, so children’s books and young adult books are where her heart is.
When Alyx Eris convinced him to become a keeper of the watch, Chase Walker knew he gained the ability to traverse the twelve dimensions.
He knew there were others—the hunters—who would do anything to put an end to the watches’ existence.
He knew his status as a keeper was completely binding until his nineteenth birthday.
Most importantly, he knew he’d be spending the year by Alyx’s side.
What he didn’t know was that in this dimension resides a ruling mage that poses more of a threat than the hunters ever could.
He didn’t know that magic-born hybrid beasts lurk in every corner of the surrounding forests.
And he didn’t know that nothing—and no one—is what it seems in the mystical world of Dimension 8.

Good review. I think it is important to indicate if the backstory is important to the current book, so thanks for doing that.

Oh we’ve spoken about Bob. Hahaha. Erotica is good for when the brain isn’t working so you can ignore how horrible the writing is. 🤣
