Many thanks to Anne Cater and Random Things Tours for my spot on this Blog Tour.
This was absolutely wicked. I loved the way the author delved into the darkest reaches of the human psyche and wrote a book based on a concept which I was often scared about. And yes… You have to read the book to understand my fear.
9 people jumped off the bridge, mass suicide… then soon 2 more did… The People Of Choice was a cult and soon becoming a movement across the globe… then 20 jumped… Nah… 19 did. How did that happen?
My first book by author Will Carver, and I was laughing in pure delight when I got to the end. Throughout the book, I had a strange inkling of where the story was leading to. Some of the clues were present in the words and the way they were stringed. Intelligence reflected off them to give me the clue.
The story was a novel idea and quite an offshoot of books I have read way, way in the past. I loved how the author could write such a dark deed in a cool and collected manner. The narrator of the story absolutely nailed it. Being a doc, I loved the clear and precise words used. There was something in them that pulled me into the collective psyche.
The only niggle I had was sometimes I found the lines repetitive. I wanted more brilliance in the prose. Overall, the book worked and made my midnight exciting.
To the author Will Carver if you ever read this post.
I saw a movie long long ago called The Telefon. A poem by Robert Frost was used it. These were the lines
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.”
Somehow your book reminded me of this movie. And that is how I knew where the story was going.
I have hated the words – miles to go before I sleep as I knew what happened after that. I was scared to utter them. I still am.
That’s why I understood
Nothing Important Happened Today.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

When strangers take part in a series of group suicides, everything suggests that a cult is to blame. How do you stop a cult when nobody knows they are a member?
Nine suicides
One Cult
No leader
Nine people arrive one night on Chelsea Bridge. They’ve never met. But at the same time, they run, and leap to their deaths. Each of them received a letter in the post that morning, a pre-written suicide note, and a page containing only four words: Nothing important happened today.
That is how they knew they had been chosen to become a part of the People Of Choice: A mysterious suicide cult whose members have no knowledge of one another.
Thirty-two people on that train witness the event. Two of them will be next. By the morning, People Of Choice are appearing around the globe; it becomes a movement. A social media page that has lain dormant for four years suddenly has thousands of followers. The police are under pressure to find a link between the cult members, to locate a leader that does not seem to exist.
