The most ornery of all sisters, Poppy’s answers to all her questions were her guns. A bounty hunter by profession, she killed the gangs of outlaws till the odds caught up with her, and she was shot. Rode to her rescue was Noah, a Pinkerton who had been following her for some time.
My second book by author Kat Flannery, saw me reading this in less than an hour. Poppy was loud and brash, and it took Noah all his patience to get to know her. She was prickly for sure. I liked the chemistry that bounced off them, though I liked Noah more. I had to admire his fortitude, she did poison him, you know.
The story had its subplots with Poppy hiding a secret which was the key to the story, and Noah was determined to get it off her. The robbers, outlaws, and a hired gunslinger gave this story an atmosphere of the Wild wild West. Love and romance happened fast, the guns were pulled faster, and high body count made this a fast read. Overall, a fast read. I bet I read it faster than Poppy pulled the gun!
