MY REVIEW
Oh gawd. This was quite an entertaining read, but in the second half. A couple on a holiday which would make or break their relationship and the man, Adam, had face blindness.
This was my third book by this author, and I expected it to be a fast read. It started slow, steadily gaining pace once the book crossed a few chapters, then the story had me hooked. I was curious to know what this couple was hiding. Each one had secrets along with a third unknown person who entered the plot, supposedly connected.
The secrets formed the many subplots, interspersing the prose, which added to the main suspense. I had many theories when I started reading, and since I had never won a game of rock, paper, scissors, I assumed this book too would win me over with its plot.
The atmosphere was darkly compelling at times where danger seemed to be around the corner in the shadows. Sometimes it gave me the ambiance of paranormal happenings. Some scenes were slightly far fetched, but I was willing to overlook that and enjoy the main plotline.
Second half was a bit fast for me. Tension was raised in an apt manner as pages turned. Overall it was captivating with an explosive ending.
