This was one fabulous kickass books that I have read. Lizzy Dyson was on trial for her husband Tony and his lover’s murder. That was clear to all, she pled guilty too. The jury had to decide her years of conviction, and that started the ball rolling right at the point where it all began.

My first book by M K Boers, and man, was I ambushed by emotions at every page. My suspicious mind looked at Lizzy with doubt early on, but as the story progressed, I got to know the extenuating circumstances of her life, my loyal support went to her.

I loved how the author managed to sway me with her writing. I stood waiting at the shadows rooting for Lizzy. My heart was in my throat when she gave me her side of story. This book started as a thriller for me, but soon became so much more.

It encompassed all the human emotions, the pain, fear, anger, desperation. It showed me how a woman, pushed to the limit, reached her breaking point. Each chapter showed how me how Lizzy who was alone garnered support as the events of her life were revealed.

What can I say about Lizzy – she was not the meek, docile, girly woman. She was, probably at one time, but repeated miscarriages (5 of them) and dark despair and depression made her who she was today. But she didn’t hide behind it. She was honest, brave, took responsibly of her misdeeds, and saw life from a different viewpoint. A woman who had no one post the loss of her precious babies got the support which she deserved. All credit for this characterization goes to the author.

I loved the honesty with which the author portrayed the lives of all the characters, both the main ones and other friends and relatives. Each put their stamp on this story. I can wax eloquent about Boers’s book, but it ought to be read for its genuineness and commitment to her story.

Lizzy might have killed, but she touched my heart with her innocence. A supposedly teaser of a read became my infamous midnight reads. Simply fantastic!!

Hmmm… I think it was obvious that I liked the book. In case it was not, I would like to say – I loved the book.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Lizzy was struggling, everyone knew that.

He shouldn’t have done those things.

He shouldn’t have pushed her so hard.

And now, her children, her marriage, her hope – gone.

It was all her fault, she knew that, but was there a chance of redemption?

Lizzy Dyson’s on trial for her life. She knows she must pay for what she did, even if it wasn’t planned, but will the jury believe her?

  1. This looks so good?! I love that the blurb lets the reader already know that she’s killed but that there’s so much more to the story than that. This sounds like it was super emotional and gripping to read! Great review Shalini! I’m going to have to look for this one on NG now!
