Many thanks to Noelle Holten and publisher Bookouture for my spot on this Blog Tour.

When I opened the book and took my first glimpse of it, I knew I would simply fall in love with it. When Aunt Clara died, Hallie was left with a bucket list she had written as a child. She left her job and went about fulfilling the wishes of the innocent younger Hallie and Aunt Clara. In the process, Hallie discovered a thing or two about herself. Ben her best friend stood steadfast by her side through it all… Was Ben her soul mate, or did the newcomer Gavin bring new dreams? Read the book to know Hallie’s story.

Jenny Hale’s writing was as beautiful as ever. There was a rhythm in her words as if the prose was beating to an ancient love story. The story steeped in grief after the death of a beloved was filled with hope with new dreams and a second chance to become all that we can be. Not many books can bring about this strange melody of the heart, this is one of the best.

Writing emotions is the most difficult thing. Jenny Hale made it look so easy. I was into the book from the first line and emerged out of my kindle only at the end. A beautiful story which strung my heart with color and dreams.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Bookouture, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

When I graduated college, one of my friends said, “Look out for this one; she’s going to be an author one day.” Despite being an avid reader and a natural storyteller, it wasn’t until that very moment that the idea of writing novels occurred to me.

Sometimes our friends can see the things that we can’t.

While I didn’t start straight away, that comment sowed a seed and several years, two children, and hundreds of thousands of words later, I completed a novel that I felt was worthy of publication. The result was Coming Home for Christmas, a heart-warming story about the magic of love at Christmas, and 2017 TV movie on The Hallmark Channel.

The rest is history.

When I’m not writing, I’m a mother of two boys and a wife to a very supportive husband.

Hallie Flynn’s favorite place in the world is her great Aunt Clara’s beautiful beachside house, with its inviting wraparound porch and enchanting views across the sparkling turquoise ocean. For Hallie, going to Firefly Beach, filled with magical memories, feels like coming home, but in one moment Hallie is left broken-hearted when her adored Aunt Clara passes away…

As always, Aunt Clara has thought of everything. In her last letter she included a bucket list Hallie wrote as a child, for Hallie to complete. Leaving her dead-end job and predictable schedule, Hallie returns to Firefly beach and embraces Aunt Clara’s words. All the time her childhood best friend Ben Murray, with his golden charm and infuriating ability to be right all the time, is by her side.

Spending the summer with Ben, as they enjoy drinks on the pier and endless talks stretched out in the soft sand, Hallie begins to remember the things that matter most to her. But following the bucket list isn’t an easy journey. It forces her to face the pain of her past as she starts to fall for the person who has been there for her all along…

Just as her heart is healing, an encounter with a newcomer to the beach town, wealthy and talented photographer Gavin Wilson, leaves her questioning her future and shows her she has to make a difficult decision that could mean losing everything.

Will Hallie be able to fulfill Aunt Clara’s last wish and change her life? Or will a secret she’s been keeping destroy her new beginning—and the chance to experience true love?

  1. Woot – glad to see you liked this one – I have it on my kindle and just haven’t gotten to it yet.

  2. Beautiful review as always, Shalini! Ugh… I should have waited for this review, then I would have definitely picked up this one rather than the one that irritated me and ended up in a DNF shelf…

  3. I love Jenny Hale books. I like you comment about Writing Emotions. She does a very good job and her stories are so realistic and believable. Another wonderful review.

    1. Thank you so much
I don’t read emotional books most of the times as I keep crying nowadays. I have become soft hearted. Thank you Carla

      1. I have as well. I never used to cry when reading or watching movies, but I do all the time now. I even cry when looking at facebook posts. Not sloppy, but tears.
