Many thanks to Rachel and Rachel’s Random Resources for my spot on this Blog Tour.

A freelance photographer who could see aura fascinated me with its premise. One devastating day at the opera, she saw a man with no aura and was rescued by another with a deep red aura. Olivia Parr was intrigued and drawn to the darker side, not knowing she was calling to her own death. On the other hand, Crow with the aura of the deepest red became her protector.

My first book by author Elizabeth Davies and quite an entertaining ride it was. The story started with a bang and kept raging on with each chapter. The author’s style of writing had a flair for dramatic tangents, seen in the interaction between Crow and Olivia.

But the intrigue and the danger in the story came from Olivia’s conversations with the man with no aura, Rochdale. He was smooth and debonair who knew how to seduce her with the right words. I loved the different characterizations as they made my mood shift from sweet to forbidden, from fun to fear.

Crow came to her asking for help against evil that had besieged his family and taken his sister, Meadow. The story could have been more cohesive, but this was book 1 in the series. So I expect more reveals to come in the next book.

Written with a swift pace, ups and downs were the emotions, the twists soon converged in the plot making it a fun read with a dramatic ending and a shocking reveal. A fun read, indeed.

I received a free ARC from Rachel and the author, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.

Elizabeth Davies is a paranormal author, whose books have a romantic flavour with more than a hint of suspense. And death. There’s usually death…

Olivia Parr doesn’t believe her ability to see auras is a gift. It hasn’t exactly done her any favours. Quite the opposite, in fact. Having become something of a loner, she tries to avoid people and the glow surrounding them, preferring to view life through the lens of a camera, where she can’t see those telltale colours.

But when a rare visit to a theatre ends in death and bloodshed, Olivia’s life is about to become considerably more complicated.

During the mayhem, one man stands out, and not just because he seems oblivious to the terrible carnage. The reason? He has no aura.

But everyone has an aura, right?

Everyone.

Except for the dead.

Not only is she fascinated and intrigued by this strange, compelling man, in the aftermath of the tragedy she gains a protector; a man whose aura is deep, dark red – the colour of blood.
