My review

This was a feel good, warm romantic book where there was minimal angst and no major twists.

My second book by Holly Martin, showed me how easy love was, both falling and being. It showed the parts where life was beautiful and loving, sunshine and flowers, spring and blossoms in their lives. This book had Melody and Jamie coming together. Their attraction was palpable in the first book. And this book tipped them both over in love.

Aunt Agatha was as outrageous as ever. The rest of the characters were loving. The book recaptured the gooey feelings that one got in love. It showed me that life was beautiful even if it was in the pages of a book.

My niggle, if you could call it that, everyone was beautiful and loving and in love and happy. It just needed other emotions to make it flavorful. But sometimes, this is the right book to lighten a heavy heart. Easily read in 2 hours. Enjoyable!!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Publisher Bookouture, and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

My rating : 4 stars

About the Author

Book blurb

Melody Rosewood loves her new home in idyllic Sandcastle Bay. The beautiful little cottage on the edge of Sunshine Beach, with its bright yellow door and view of the sea has captured her heart. And she loves being close by to her family and best friend Tori Graham.

Life by the sea is pretty much perfect, there’s just one thing missing…

Gorgeous Jamie Jackson, with his cheeky grin and adorable puppy, works as a sculptor opposite Melody’s jewellery shop. From the moment he and Melody meet sparks fly. But despite their instant attraction, a past heartache is holding Jamie back.

As Melody starts to make a life for herself in the close-knit, quirky seaside community, she realises Jamie could be the one for her. But as the two of them take a chance on romance, it’s one dating disaster after another. Are they destined to always be just good friends?

Or will Melody finally find her happily-ever-after in Sandcastle Bay?

  1. Wonderful review for what sounds like a truly amazing book. These are the kind of books that can really make your heart warm up. Pretty much how some movies can do that as well sometimes. Glad you enjoyed this one so much, and your review for this one pretty much completely showed that ❤️😘😊

  2. Every once in a while you need one of those “feel-good” reads to make it through the day. Glad you liked this one. Nice review, Shalini. Hope life is well over in your part of the world. 🙂

        1. Well Saania, I can see the words you wrote… I can’t interpret it any other way.
Secondly the blogging community is pretty nice, if you interact, they interact with you and you will build up your relationship. Wanting publicity comments likes should ideally be secondary to writing a blog. You should write it because you have something to say. The strength of your words would get you likes and comments.
Please think about it – why will I respect and read your words when you didn’t respect or read mine

    1. There you go my darling Laurie, lightening it already and I am so happy you are okay.. How’s your health? All okay.. Meds are taken on time? Ya ya being in Mama mode… Well someone’s got to be 😘😘♥️♥️

      1. I’m glad I could lighten your mood a little, Shalini. You’re too full of charm and sweetness to spend your days loaded down with a heavy heart. 💖

As far as my physical health goes, I’m coming along. I never filled the prescription they gave me for the strong pain meds after my procedure because I didn’t think I’d need them and I didn’t. I took one OTC Advil a day for two or three days immediately following and that was enough. 🙄 I think I’m still healing on the inside but there is minimal to no pain involved. Thx for your concern dear Shalini….Mama. 😘 😘

        1. Yayyyyy… I am Mama… I loved it… I am glad you didn’t require the stronger meds… I also prefer that. No pain = healing… I am so happy. You did give my heart a bump when you said surgery/procedure.
I am so glad you are okay.
Since you are okay, I am okay

          1. STAY OKAY!! Promise me you’ll think of only happy things, good things and not sad or painful things today, okay? You are valued. And you’re so smart too!! If I didn’t see you around here I’d say, “where is Shalini?” That means you’ve impacted my life. 😌

          2. Oh yayyy… Gimme a L, gimme an A, gimme an U, gimme a R, gimme an I, and end it with an E
And you have the most loving and fabulous woman on this Earth LAURIE!!
These are the last of my cheerleading skills. I wonder if I would fit into an outfit with poms poms!! 😂😂😂
Yes I will, no more sad thoughts or sad people or heavy heart. I am planning to make the end of the year fabulous
            Go Laurie
From my ♥️ to yours ♥️

          3. Yay Shalini!! Woohoo, you’re so cool. ☺️
That’s right. No more sad thoughts, sad people or heavy heart. Life’s too short. Trust me on that one. You’re intelligent, fun, funny and an amazing book reviewer I might add. And so creative, too. And you’re thoughtful and caring. Many are not. Celebrate your wonderfulness, and if folks can’t or don’t appreciate those beautiful qualities, it’s their loss. 🤷🏽‍♀️
All my best to you sweet Shalini. 💖💖

  3. I sometimes get in the mood for a story with no violence or much drama, and i can never find the right book. I’ll bookmark this one for when that time comes.

  4. All is well here, thanks for asking, Shalini. We live too far inland to be impacted by any hurricanes (we are in the northwest), but we do get the cold and snow come winter, which is coming much too quickly for me! It got down in the 40s here last night. Brrr. Enjoy your week, my dear! 🙂

  5. I find I need a sweet and entertaining read like this to relax and cleanse the brain between heavier fare

  6. Sometimes a feel-good romance is just what we need! This sounds charming. I’ll have to remind myself to check it out on a day when life (and my reading) are too heavy. 🙂

    1. Hahaha I wanted one grey character who is selfish not so loving… Initially I wanted to live in this town till I realized they would consider me as the gray character. So I dropped my travel plans 😉😉😂😂😂😂

    1. This is fiction darlin.. And love between us has been easy… So I suppose it is possible 😉😉😂😂😘😘🙆🙆 I don’t know what this girl emoji is meant to say.. She looks cute

      1. You’re right. Our love is definitely the easiest that I’ve experienced!! 💖💖 I have no idea what that girl is doing… I assume she is dancing to “YMCA” and has just reached the A. 😂😂😂
