Quite an intriguing case this turned out to be. The cop Luca was back, and author Dan Petrosini did a mighty fine job showing us the turbulence in his life. The author was quite understated and dignified in his writing, giving the book a justified balance.

Someone was killing the elderly in the country home with Rohypnol. Was it for money or were there deeper hidden motives. A sentence from his wife and his neighbor caused him to look deeper. And a knottted plot soon emerged. It was up to this dynamic cop to find the beginning and unfurl it.

The book showed strength, Luca and the author’s. Thats the vibe it gave me. It showed me how difficult a cop’s life could be and how Luca rose to face those challenges. The pressures were high when his bosses started showing a keen interest. And he gave it his all. The book was simply Lucas’s.

The story pulled me in deeper, pace was slightly slow. Few red herrings perked me right up as I rushed to get to the end. An entertaining read. Book 10 of the series but could be read as a standalone.
