MY REVIEW
Secrets and Liars – always a good combination – and author Nicola Marsh did a bang-up job of weaving layers in the plot line with twists every few pages.
3 women living next door in a closed off community, Frankie, Celeste, and Saylor, had a past and present, but nobody could have guessed that taking the child and the consequences of the action would have been the future? Or was it all planned? Who was the one with the darkness in the soul?
I loved the gossipy feeling I got while reading this. A perverse nature of human mind to know all the sordid details. I couldn’t help myself from reading the book at one-go as all the ladies were so eager to tell me. But mind you, Ms. Marsh didn’t allow her characters to reveal everything. A tight leash was kept on all characters. I was quite eager to read from the last page, but I controlled myself.
Each chapter turned me inside out as I thought I had it guessed, but no…never…nada. A-twist-a-second was what I felt when I kept turning pages all through the afternoon. A delight ran through me as each truth kept surfacing. There you go…you know the reason now.
Hidden motives and connections, truths and lies kept the pace fast and furious with a glorious, explosive ending. Time well spent, I would say, wouldn’t you?
The book is on sale – what are you waiting for?

BOOK BLURB
We live in a close-knit community. Thirty houses surrounding a square of garden that is perfect for our kids. We congregate here on major holidays, each family bringing a plate and sharing food and conversation. It’s in the garden that I first met her. The woman who would worm her way into my family and piece by piece tear it apart…
I should have known something was wrong from the very beginning. She seemed perfect in so many ways: she floated through the baby shower, a warm smile on her face, chatting to strangers with ease. At first I thought it was sweet that she offered to help me, that she made an effort to get to know us, that she brought over games and knew Luna’s favorite foods… I had no idea that I couldn’t trust another mother…
I should have known that someone would eventually discover the secret in my marriage. Why I never believe a word my husband says—and why he shouldn’t believe me. But how could a woman I only just met be the one to find it out?
If I’d known, I’d have called the police sooner.
And maybe I’d have prevented that dreadful scene. Every neighbor peering through their curtains as the sirens wailed in our street.
I could have protected my family.
I could have stopped what happened next…
