MY REVIEW

Two beautiful well developed characters and 2 timelines filled with emotions made this one of the best reads on the lazy afternoon.

Bea received the letter the child Bea had written and kept in time capsule. She then wrote a letter to her past self. That was so sweet made me think what I would tell the child who was me decades ago.

Then came the second character Lucy who migrated to America with her sister to have a better life. They had to sacrifice many things while they gained plentiful too.

I kept wondering how author would connect Bea in the present to Lucy in the past. The letter Bea wrote to herself triggered a change unknown to her.

This was my first foray into author Carmel Harrington’s book, and oh my, the lady made me read this with a lump in my throat. Waves of emotions rushed through me, the words compelled me to stay connected with the book even when I wanted to take a break.

The author explored the strength of relationships when secrets started unraveling the fiber of the family. Love and forgiveness were highlighted as the pages turned, almost by themselves.

The ending was explosive. I got this book because the cover entranced me. I loved this author as her words spoke to my heart.

MY RATING

Rating: 5 out of 5.
