Many thanks to Noelle Holten and publisher Bookouture for my spot on this Blog Tour.
I apologize to the author and publisher for the expletives used. But if they write/publish such a book, intense emotions ought to be expected. π€·π»ββοΈ
Omg omg omg….
Holy fuck!!
What did I just read?!!
Shalini Boland is one brilliant schemer who can pull the rug from under my feet. I fell with a thud on my arse. But I could feel nothing but the tingles she caused in my entire body with the mind-numbing, soul-tearing, rip-roaring twist. (I wanted to use expletives, but I barely restrained myself!!)
How could anyone think of such a warped plot where my realities tangled into a knot?
9 years ago, a child Holly was abducted and Rachel was devastated. 9 years later, she was living a quiet life in Dorset with her children and partner when she met Kate and her daughter Bella who had just moved into town. Rachel was shocked and devastated. She knew Bella – she was her MISSING CHILD, her OTHER DAUGHTER!!
Having read many novels by this author, I was eager to sink my teeth into this thriller. I just didn’t know I would be knocked out so hard!! Her writing was bloody brilliant, if I may say so. It was smooth as whisky bringing a sense of warmth and camaraderie that I didn’t expect.
How could I describe the lull she created in my mind with this story? How could I tell you how she caused me to believe every word of her prose? How could I show you how I got swept in the wave of emotions that flowed from every corner? Oh, how could I find the words that would fit aptly for this thriller?
Oh man, the master magician was back with her card tricks. She showed me one set while pulling a royal flush with the other. This was a true psychological thriller. It changed all that I believed with one single line. It was a mind fuck at precisely 3:19 am when I finished this book! I wanted to screech like a banshee, but the lateness of the hour prevented that.
A truly fantastic read!! My kinda thriller!!
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Hello π I write suspense thrillers and dark adventures, and I live in Dorset, England with my husband, two children and our dog. I only write reviews for books I enjoy!
Nine years ago her daughter was taken. And now sheβs back.
Two-and-a-half-year-old Holly is playing happily in a pink plastic playhouse, while her mother Rachel sips coffee and chats with a friend nearby. It should be an ordinary day for all of them. But, in the blink of an eye, it turns into every familyβs worst nightmare.
Holly is taken by a stranger and never found.
Nine years later, Rachel is living a quiet life in Dorset. Sheβs tried to keep things together since the traumatic day when she lost her eldest daughter. She has a new family, a loving partner and her secrets are locked away in her painful past.
Until one afternoon when Rachel meets a new school parent Kate and her teenage daughter Bella. Rachelβs world is instantly turned upside down β sheβs seen Bella before. Sheβd recognise that face anywhere β itβs her missing child.
And she will stop at nothing to get her backβ¦

Looking forward to reading this after your enthusiastic review!
This was crazy π€ͺ
No wonder you aren’t getting well–thriller, followed by ranting and raving–all at 3:19 am!!!!! If you can’t rein in your thriller impulses, I will prescribe a reading diet of only romances and Nancy Drew! You have been warned!π
I would love to go back to Enid blyton and malory towers. This was supposed to be only a few minutes read… But in the darkness time slipped and I finished at 3 19 π€·π»ββοΈ

The past 3 books of hers have been fabulous. I think I have missed one
You both are FAB! π
I really enjoy Shalini Boland’s books, but apparently not as much as you do. It has to be an amazing book to get you to read that late into the night, especially when you have not been feeling well. Wonderful review Shalini.
This was read a little before ill health. So I was ok about late night. Now I get Siri to read out the book
That’s great.
