It has been ages since I read a Kewl of Hunters book by Heather Graham, and I was overjoyed when I got the opportunity to read this.
A kidnapping followed by a murder of the FBI agent and a ghost in white got the Kewl of Hunters, a branch of FBI dealing with the paranormal, to investigate. There was already the TV crew of ghost hunters in the haunted inn, of which historian novelist Keri was a part of. Agent Joe Dunhill along with boss Dallas met them at the inn where the dead body was posed admixt a lot of blood. A satanic cult from the 1920 was suspected, and the investigation rolled on.
Having read books in this series many years ago, this was book 28, it was still extremely easy to follow the proceedings. The author Heather Graham has given the cast of characters list at the beginning of the book. Both Joe and Keri could see the ghost which had a message from the grave. It was upto Keri to search the annals of books in the museum for the past and Joe to find the clues of the murder to get to the truth.
The story started slow, then soon picked up speed when the author brought the scary bits of history into the present. I was quite eager to know the story of the Ghosts. Joe was a cool dude, I wouldn’t mind having a guy like him in my life. I wished Keri was braver. The plot had its great end reveal which quite shocked me. Didn’t expect that person to be the leader. And the Ghosts were laid to rest.
It worked as a standalone and kept me quite hooked to the entire story. Heather Graham is a great storyteller who knows how to combine romance with suspense and supernatural. Overall, a fun afternoon.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Keri Wolf has joined the crew of The Seekers, a show that searches for paranormal phenomena, as they explore a supposedly haunted old inn on the road between Philadelphia and Harrisburg. The place is famous for its warm welcome—and infamous for being the site of an ax murder rampage in the 1920s. They’ve barely begun when a very real dead body is discovered in the basement. As a nonfiction author, Keri is supposed to be the rational one, but she can’t explain a terrifying apparition that seems to be both a threat and a warning.
Former detective Joe Dunhill knows what she’s going through—the strange gift of being able to see and talk to the dead is a struggle he shares. A new member of the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters, he’s on the team investigating the disturbing death. The town is steeped in old-fashioned superstition, and the deeper Joe and Keri plunge into the dark secrets of the inn, the closer they get to a devastating truth. Will a bloody history be repeated? Or can the spirits of the past reach out to stop a killer?

Okay Shalini, ghosts and the supernatural sounds interesting and the subject always gets my attention.
Me too love Ghosts and this is book 28 last I read was book 4
I just downloaded this on Audible. I’ve listened to most of the series – some are better than others – but I do like it when Jackson Crow and the original Krewe members are included in the story.
I agree the first 4 I read were interesting.. Then I never got to read the others. Hope you like it
