MY REVIEW

I was going through a reading/listening slump and the cover caught my imagination. I wondered how I would look in leathers. Pretty bad… But that’s not a topic of discussion. But the narrator caught my attention with her easy way of telling me the story.

That started my entry into the world the author Yasmine Galenorn had created where the main character was a half-breed combination of light and dark Fae.

A private investigator, who in the course of saving her friend’s brother made some big foes. Luckily, it was the male lead to the rescue with a solution where she joined his agency, The Wild Hunt, and helped solve crimes.

I liked the story but the writing could have been more fluid. Too many informative bits were told to me repetitively. I liked how the main character was connected to the water element (I imagine myself in my fantasy stories to be connected to all elements).

Attraction was weaved in, but it didn’t form the main plotline. I was so thankful for that. I wouldn’t gave minded making out with the guy… He was the son of the Gods and quite hunky.

The plotline was interesting enough with a serial killer being summoned to cause havoc in their world. I liked the action scenes. The rest could be tightened up. Overall it was a good listen/read. I thought it worked well as an audiobook. Hopefully book 2 would be more exciting.

MY RATING

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my journey down its pages, straight from the heart. STRICTLY HONEST and UNBIASED.
