This was my first Steve Cavanagh book and after hearing about this author all over the social media, I was excited to read this book.
With much ado, over the weekend I opened my kindle to read, the prologue was soo intriguing!! The storyline was twisted and went thus, J. T. LeBeau was this famous bestseller but elusive author whom no one had seen ever. Paul lived with his wife Maria, and she found a bank statement for twenty million dollars credited to her husband from LeBeau Enterprises. And the story rolled on…
My interest rate spiked, my pulse raced initially. And then I got stuck… Not in a good way… I got bored. But I persevered, and the book picked up its plot and its pace. There were many twists and turns, all of them steep and confusing. I could guess the plot easily because there were only 3 characters. The cat and mouse game kinda became obvious. It was still interesting as the author’s writing had the power to pull me in.
Then there came a major medical flaw. There were 2 of them but I let go of the first one because miracles happen in the medical field, the second I couldn’t let go.
Overall, it was a good read certainly not what I expected.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Orion Publishing, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!!
Check out the medical flaws at the end of the review, if interested.

Steve Cavanagh was born and raised in Belfast before leaving for Dublin at the age of eighteen to study Law. He currently practices civil rights law and has been involved in several high profile cases; in 2010 he represented a factory worker who suffered racial abuse in the workplace and won the largest award of damages for race discrimination in Northern Ireland legal history. He holds a certificate in Advanced Advocacy and lectures on various legal subjects (but really he just likes to tell jokes). He is married with two young children.
BEFORE YOU READ THIS BOOK
I WANT YOU TO KNOW THREE THINGS:
1. The police are looking to charge me with murder.
2. No one knows who I am. Or how I did it.
3. If you think you’ve found me. I’m coming for you next.
After you’ve read this book, you’ll know: the truth is far more twisted…
Publication Date: 4th April 2019

Spoiler Alerts
Hemiplegia post brain damage – one sided paralysis takes more than 6 months, sometimes years, for the patient to get back his mobility. Here full mobility happened very very quickly.
Areteritis – inflammation of the blood vessel wall is a known condition where peripheral pulses in hands and legs cannot be felt. I have had one such patient on my operating table. But when the wrist arteries are cut, one never checks pulse at the wrist. One goes for the carotid or directly hand on the chest. A killer who has murdered many, would know where to look to check presence of life.

I didn’t rate this one either. Too twisty.

Your secret is safe with me 🙊
🙈😂😂
Oops! Bit of a bloomer.
😂😂
Great review, Shalini. I recently read the author’s Thirteen and it was brilliant. I am sorry this one did’t work out for you though but I totally get why.I’ve read some good books that put me off due to inaccuracies esp about where I am from. I imagine its the same for you and medicine.
I want to read thirteen I have heard it is great. Very excited
Good review, Shalini. It’s nice to know that you’re an anesthesiologist by profession. 🙂
Hahaha I still am on paper😂😂
😀
The blurb sounds very interesting! Was it written in 1st person?
I don’t think so I read it 2 weeks ago
Hmm, you had me hooked there… you sly fox. Would a simple-minded nonmedical professional such as myself catch the error and enjoy the tale more than your clever and highly trained brain?
Hahaha girl I love love love your words. I am your biggest fan. And you would love it. It is quite twisty😘… Like you? Or like me?
Great review, Shalini! I won this one on IG giveaway. I am not sure I would catch the medical flaw!
I am sure you would love it. Mine are just occupation Perks. Sometimes such things catch my eye. There are lots of twists in fact I nearly every few pages. It is exciting.

Wonderful review! I need to read something from this author, just like you I’ve heard about him all over social media, including my own blog! LOL
Hahaha I am sure you will love it. It is absolutely twisted
Thanks for the explanation about the medical stuff. I admit it didn’t bother me as I didn’t have the knowledge! I hope you’ll enjoy Thirteen better! This one was also my first from the author and I really liked it 🙂 x
I am so excited for thirteen ❤️
I can’t wait to compare our thoughts on it!!

I am okay Michael. How have you been?
Fantastic review, Shalini— as usual! And I loved reading your medical explanations. It’s something I never would have noticed, so thank you for shining your expertise on this.
Thank you… It is just occupational Perks 🙈
Another great review. Nope, I wouldn’t of catch the medical flaws but whenever I noticed some historical errors in a book or film it does bother me. So I can understand why you couldn’t let these two flaws go. Despite that, I’m intrigue by the plot and the main character. I have the feeling I would enjoy reading this book.
This is a really twisted book with twisted plots and twisted characters… Get the hint? 😂😂
Definitely my kind of book! 😂
Amazing
Thank you ❤️
Welcome❤
