Many thanks to Riki and Entangled Teen for my review copy.
Hot! Hot! Hot! This book raised the temperature of my kindle by a few degrees and mine too!!
A paranormal romance between the vampire Arran and the woman he had never forgotten, the woman who was in his soul (if he had one) Gabrielle.
Elle, as most called her, was searching for her missing sister Alex at a Goth Club when she chanced upon Arran, and he decided to help her. The story rolled on. Twists and turns with more kidnappings and action sequence brought this sweet hot number to its HEA with a sliver of a twist in the epilogue.
My first book by Jessica Lee, this was the second in the series. I did realize that the earlier book may have dealt with some of what was told to me. But it didn’t change anything. It was easy to understand the good team vs the bad one.
Jessica Lee’s writing was smooth like honey, dripping in heat when the scene required it and thrilling me when the action took place. Emotions made the story stand out and some of the ones from the gray characters caught my eye. Markus from the rogue team caught my eye, stuck between desires and duty. Who knew a blackened heart could have feelings?!
The characters were distinct. Marguerite as the sire of the vampires was the villain who used her powers with abandon. Oh how I love my villains!
The bond between Arran and Gabrielle was a live wire. It heated, it sizzled. There was love along with lust. Both were strong and independent, yet so sweet on each other.
Overall, a great paranormal romance with suspense and thrill.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley and publisher, and this is my journey into its pages, straight from the heart!! STRICTLY HONEST AND UNBIASED.
All my reviews can be read here
Arran MacLain is a vampire on a suicide mission, driven to kill his former partner who betrayed him and the Enclave they served. But two things stand in his way: Gabrielle, the human female who holds his heart, and the past that won’t let him go. If only death was enough to cleanse his soul.
Gabrielle Steven’s sister is missing. Her hunt for clues brings her face to face with the one vampire she can’t forget. Their missions combine and thrust them into the heart of evil. Will their passion be enough to overcome the pain from their past, or will their dark desires destroy them both?

Oh my, this sounds like a busy one – I feel like I need to catch my breath just reading your review.
Really is that good or bad? I have never reviewed sexy book on my blog at least in recent times. Hehehe
Mercy, child! Your review is giving me the vapors!
Really? Yayy I have not reviewed such a book on my blog or anywhere… 😂 😂 I read, enjoy and get on to next one 🙈

What a review! Whew! Maybe you should review sexy books more often Shalini! 😉
Whoa!! You think so? My first attempt and I couldn’t find the right words hehehe. So happy it was okay! 😂 💃
Great review!
Thank you so much ❤️
Sounds interesting. I will check it out. 🙂 I recently read Pam Godwin’s Dead of Eve, which is a dystopian/sci-fi/paranormal unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It has a very unique plot line of humans turning into aphids after being bitten by someone with the virus, and only one human female remaining (yeah, it gets ugly and violent and it’s quite intense and has a kick-ass heroine–which I know you like). Her books can be pretty dark, though, so be warned. 🙂 Happy Friday to you!
Oooh I like it. Will check the book out 💃
Oooohh I do like a little sizzle in my books! Well written review. I loved that you mentioned the characters were “distinct”. That is what gives a book depth. Thank you for writing an excellent review
Thank you so much. I rarely review sizzle.. So I was hesitant with the review.. Glad to hear it came off well. ❤️
I understand the hesitation. You have to think a lot about the words you should use to describe books with such content. You did amazing 👍
Thank you so much. This took the longest to write too with many drafts
