Digital Reads Blog Tours proudly presents Author Linda Wisniewski’s new book — Where The Stork Flies

MY REVIEW

This was quite a departure from my routine reads. But the idea of a time slip intrigued me, especially when the main character Kat was visited by someone who resembled her grandmother.

Regina wanted to go back home to 1800 Poland, and Kat had to first understand the situation and try to find a portal/wormhole to transport her. But the path to home was filled with trails and tribulations, anger, tears, and smiles. And through it all, Kat had to rectify and learn her lesson before she could heal her present.

My first book by author Linda Wisniewski, I liked how the ladies tried to understand each other. There was a realistic depiction of friction before compromise.

The story detailed Regina’s stay in modern America. I loved the old lady who had to adjust so much. There was a sense of grace and strength in her that I so admired. The sudden American slangs she started using were quite funny. She gave back as good she got. Her pain and worry about her child wrenched my heart too.

Just a few niggles. The book was too long and the main part of the blurb occurred at 70% when the book was nearly done. More emotions would have uplifted the book.

Kat’s determination to help the old lady was admirable. I managed to warm up to her when she realized a few truths. Overall, it was a fun read in its most parts.
