My review

What a ‘bruddy’ brilliant book!! Ms. Watson has done it again, given a book so full of love, laughter, and ridiculously loving characters. The warmth Sue Watson’s writing exudes literally lights up my day. Even a heart soaked in pain finds solace and a way to smile with this book.

“Death is not the greatest loss of life, the greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live”

Dan and Faye are in love; he proposes, she says no as she has to be there for her daughter Emma and granddaughter Rosie, and her degree in English literature. Dan moves to Australia. The break up. Fast forward one year, Faye has no responsibilities, she wants to be with Dan and rushes to Australia. But there is a shock waiting for her…

Sue Watson’s books are always about love and keeping an open heart. Her books make you fall in love, to understand the power of love and to heal. Faye is fabulous in her role, I could identify with her decisions, her pain, her guilt, and finally her heart. The other characters especially granddaughter Rosie was so cute that I longed to spend more time with them. The story has the first half in England with Dan in Faye’s life and second half in Australia with Faye in Dan’s life. Both parts show how life and love finds its own way back!!

Few dialogs which made me roar in laughter in the silence of midnight

She’d vajazzled a cougar onto my private parts, and I was shocked 2 very life like cougar eyes staring back at me when I looked down. Not as shocked as Dan who came face to face with the spectacle in the dark

Once I’d texted for a client asking her daughter to bring the epi pen without my glasses on. Within seconds the daughter called up, horrified. Apparently epi pen autocorrected and I’d asked if she could bring her mother an ‘epic penis’ because she couldn’t be without it!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and publisher Bookouture, and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

My rating : 5 stars

Book blurb

Faye is in crisis. Dan is the man of her dreams. And he’s just asked her to marry him. But Faye’s been down the marriage road before.

Besides, even if she wanted to say yes, how could she move to the other side of the world? Because marrying Dan would mean living in Australia. Beautiful, warm and a gazillion miles from Faye’s daughter, Emma, a single mum with her own crazy little girl who both need Faye every single day.

Dan is offering Faye everything she ever wanted. So why does she feel like she’s about to lose it all?

    1. I read everything Chrissie. Romance fantasy children’s book, thriller action, non fiction… Except war hardcore erotica and child abuse. I am reading a cozy mystery now. What are you reading?

          1. Wiccan practices, murder, investigation. Better characterization and more spirits and clues from the other realm would have made this super exciting. Well…. My review is done and scheduled, short and sweet like the book.. Hehehe

  1. Another great review from my favorite reviewer! You’ve been a busy girl, Shalini. Wish I had as much time to read as you do. Looking forward to the next one! 🙂

  2. Oh my goodness….. those quotes alone would have sold me on the book… had me laughing. But that you gave it five stars!!! woo!! Gonna check it out on amazon now.

    1. It was so funny… I was laughing, crying in the break-up part (the ice around my heart was broken then, I could cry, you know the reasons) then it made me smile that love always finds a way. Fingers crossed…

        1. Cozy babe, do you think if I vajazzled, it would help? Hahahaha 😂😂😂😂. But no thank you… It would be too much pain and shock

          1. Oh, I am the QUEEN of autocorrect embarrassment!! 😂😂 I still remember sending out a text to my employees once and I put one of their names in it (Arman) and it autocorrected it to Seman!!! 😂😂😂Luckily, I had a good relationship with my staff so they just thought it was hilarious! All I needed was for one of them to get offended and go to HR because of my fat fingers!! 😂😂

          2. Hahaha Arman would have got offended hahaha Arman means a wish… Don’t know what Seman means. But Saman means a thing… Hehehe there you go.
