Life is nothing but an ebb and flow of emotions

Where the spoken word sometimes hits and stuns

The peak oft high, the valley just drowns

I try to smile, they turn into frowns

I wander through life, trying to be strong

A wind soon blows, hitting me down

I lay defeated, wounded too

The tears don’t stop, they seep through

Thoughts are muddled, dreams laid bare

Some days are more, my breaths can bear

Snap out of it, I tell my mind

But the heart says, patience, be kind

I cried through the morn, I cried through the day

Till the pain just withered away

I know life has been hard, dreams awashed

The plans withered, hopes have crashed

It’s difficult today, to always be brave

The dreams I want, the dreams I crave

New illusions waver, I hold on to them

Hoping today’s goodness would brighten then

A wish is all I am left with holding

A glance of future lay afar shimmering

Who can know, whether it be false or true

All I can do is keep breathing through…

Today has been a bad day for me, where my feelings went haywire, my thoughts were all over the place, and I couldn’t find an anchor to my crashing emotions.

Strength is something which has to be worked upon, it takes time to fall and rise. Well, today is one such day flowing into the tomorrows!!

    ‘Hope is good thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies’

        There’s something jinxed about umbrella and our treks! Another friend of mine who had been brandishing it magestically all day long forgot it on the railway station after the Bhimashankar trek! 😀 Unlike the last time, this one’s umbrella belonged to his brother, so no worries though 😉
        And I have been tinkering with the site. Been a long time since I published a post so working on that as well 🙂
        Sorry that I haven’t commented on your book reviews of late but I sure do follow them!

        1. Hey that’s fine. I remember the umbrella as it was the girl friend’s. So I was wondering if I was possesive about my umbrella.
          Writing about travel takes time on a busy schedule. Write about what you are doing now. I am sure it would be a fun sweet post

          1. 😂 I do carry a rain poncho but never umbrella! They are practically useless in the mountains where the rain often lashes you horizontally with the wind! If only my friends would understand that 😅
            And thanks for the tag! I have been hiding from awards for the longest time but I guess it’s time to give in to a tag 😁

          3. Hi Shalini! Thank you so much for the motivation the other day.It helped me work on two long pending drafts! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be doing the 3 quotes-3 days tag on the blog but I’ll feel obliged to mention them here 🙂

  7. That poem is beautiful! Keep trying, life is hard sometimes but it can get better and you are doing great. Write more poems, they will strike a chord and help someone else. I loved it. Poetry and positive quotes can really help when you’re feeling bad, they can make you feel the feelings or make you less alone or even inspire you to keep going and try to be positive. Best wishes 🙂
